If Kaak declared that he disagrees with the behavior of sex between two people of the same gender while at the same time affirming the humanity and worthiness of respect for homosexuals and bisexuals, then he would not be a bigot.

But, since he openly declared his hatred of an entire group of people and not hatred of their behavior, I would have to say he is a bigot. Unless he sincerely misstated his viewpoint.

By the way --- one definition of homophobia is this one I found.

homophobia: a fear or hatred of homosexuals

So that mean a person can be homophobic and not hate homosexuals? Note the word "or" in the definition.

If you wanted to take the Christian stance on this, you would believe that homosexual sex is a sin, but so is premarital sex. You have admitted to the latter, so you are a hypocrite. And in any case, nearly all Christian denominations teach you should accpet homosexuals.

The fact is, Kaak, you are a plain bigot. Don't allow prejudices to affect your actions in anyway, because to go around saying how you don't like a whole group of people who don't hurt anyone is stupid and sinful.

Not all people who dislike gays are automatically Christians... I for one am an atheist.

I no longer propose firing squads... but I do not care about gays/bis as they don't affect me. As long as they stay out of my way, and do not even try to come on to me they will be okay.

(That goes for two posters here who are.... never mind, you know who you are... leave me alone )

Kaak: I don't understand why homosexuals feel attracted to a man's body instead of a woman's. That doesn't mean that I don't like/get along with people who think that way.

DM, pitying me is a waste of your time. I'm a very happy person, and lead a quite fullfilled life. A great deal is left for me to be open minded about. You would find me a great deal less judgemental than the majority of my family, friends, and entire hometown for that matter.

lightblue: I have plenty of friends. I have no reason to associate with such people. It isn't about being mean to them, or anything like that. I just choose to steer clear...

MrFun, of course they are people. I affirm this. Why does a person dislike another? Generally for their actions or attitudes. The actions of homos make me dislike them, as well as their attitude. I can apply it to the entire group because it is the defining characteristic of the group the appals me.

Like what?

We do "bad" things like drink? Who does that hurt (providing you don't do something stupid while drunk).

What's really bad is rejecting a segment of society because you don't approve of it.

Everything else is simply "bad" based on your Christian morals, not based on "bad" as in hurting others.

Drinking impairs judgement. If people only had a single drink, it would be one thing. That, however is not the case. Drinking and driving is the leading killer in the US. not to mention the fights it causes, etc. Drugs are bad for a variety of reasons, if you think otherwise, you are a fool. Smoking does hurt others, and is quite bothersome. and Bad is as bad does. A million things can fall in to that category as it is quite broad. I do very few things that do. Can you say the same, honestly?
