This is getting sooooo tiring.

Some points I would like to make:

1) People who disagree with homosexual behavior, or those who are homophobic, do not have the right to impose their personal morals onto the private lives of other people when that behavior does no harm.

2) Most of the Apolyton members here refuse to even attempt to understand the psychological, and political reasons why homosexuals come out to family, friends, and society. I explained the reasons before.

3) Homosexuals are tired of being treated as a tabboo subject, or something that they need to be ashamed of when it is part of their identity.

Saying that displaying public affection is alright for heterosexual couples but not for homosexual couples is a hypocritical double standard. Writhing across the pool table is crossing the line, IMHO, but it'd be crossing the line whether it was two men, two women, or a woman and a man involved...

That said, the concept of "liberation" is outdated, especially on University campuses. It's sad that ignorant attitudes such as the one displayed here by Stew are fostered by such weeks, but like it or not they - however wrongly - are; "liberation" in that form has run it's course, and is starting to experience a negative backlash. It's now leading to isolation rather than integration; it's time for a change in tack.

I have no fears against people deciding who they are. I do however feal so called movements that claim to speak for everybody. People should decide for themselves and not be influenced by a particular movement. I also have no hatred nor any sordid ends to serve towards any group of people.

As long as they stay with themselves and other gay people, it is perfectly fine with me.

It gets pretty boring when heterosexuals EXAGGERATE and DISTORT some of the community and civic activities that we organize.

But on the positve side, when I read their ignorant statements, I use them as sleep aid when I have trouble getting some sleep.

The problem is that most people don't know / care that other people in their vicinity are gay or not. What they do notice is over the top behavior, and it's annoying regardless of who is too loud or overt. I agree partly with what you're saying -- for instance, two gay men holding hands in public as any heterosexual couple do, are not crossing any boundaries into inappropriate behavior.

Two gay men who are having sex on a public beach -- that is definitely inappropriate behavior, as sex between a man and a woman on a public beach would be inappropriate behavior.

The part I disagree with you, is that most of the time, coming out is bullshit or drunk behavior, when it is neither the case. Coming out involves legitimate reasons as I have explained before.
