I'm a nerd. I can also kick the ass of just about anyone who comes along, always could, but I usually had better things to do.
Anti-social? Not in the least, I just have no patience for shallow people and BS social posturing, especially by people with half the IQ of my friends and I.
Bullying? I've removed more teeth than most dentists. Nobody bullied me for long.
Yes, it takes more effort to suffer the "little people" who think they're so hot, when you think on a whole different level they'll never reach.
Benefits? Ho hum. My new software startup (started with some other nerds) is on schedule to gross more than a million it's first year, with good profitability. We expect to more than double that each of the next three years, and with no outside shareholders, we'll be writing our own tickets - don't like your work environment? benefits? hours? When you own the biz, you can pretty much do what you want as long as the bucks still come in.
Nerd, and ****in' proud of it. Got anything to say about that? Then come on down and get some.

It doesn't matter if one is a nerd, jock, prep, twinky, thug, whatever. What matters is whether or not you are a loser. There are a fair share of losers in the nerd population, but I find the ever increasing thug/wigger population has easily beat them out on both gross and per capita basis.
I mean, what kind of piece of shlt dresses up in polyester sports jerseys, thinks it looks classy to wear a bunch of cheap 14k gold, and listens to some of the crappiest "music" man has ever produced??? Really, do you think that primitive garbage actually sounds good, or are you an angry white suburban kid looking to lash out with ridiculously tacky tastes? Not to mention purposely trying to act and sound like some impoverished porch monkey from Philadelphia. Again, with more sweeping generalizations in mind, what kind of a flaming wake-and-bake failure thinks smoking weed every day is fun??? Not to mention the fact that if they ever do get laid, it's by some std ridden skank whos made the rounds with the entire thug team.
I agree that most nerds have their problems with social anxiety... yet the outgoing ones are nice, intelligent, interesting people. I have not yet met a soul who has those qualities within the wigger category. Being a loser is just that, you lose badly in the game of life.
Long live 2-pac. Rrrrrrrrreeespectt!

i'm a bit of a nerd myself, but to paraphrase MtG, i may be a nerd but i can also kick the ass of almost anyone who cares to try and bully me - which hasn't happened since back in high school, when i choked out some bastard who thought throwing ice at me was just funny as hell
i also have a social life - i go out, i talk to/meet girls (how are YOU doing in that department lately, Speer? ), etc.
yet i als post on numerous message boards, love debating politics and talking about history, and have an extensive collection of military history.
so yeah, i'm a nerd - ann ass-whupping, partying nerd. the other word for that is "well-rounded", i believe

*breaks into song*
You know it's kind of hard
Just to get along today
Our subject isn't cool
But he fakes it anyway
He may not have a clue
And he may not have style
But everything he lacks
Well he makes up in denial
So don't debate, a player straight
You know he really doesn't get it anyway
He's gonna play the field, and keep it real
For you no way, for you no way
So if you don't rate, just overcompensate
At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake
The world needs wannabe's
So do that brand new thing
He needs some cool tunes
Not just any will suffice
But they didn't have Ice Cube
So he bought Vanilla Ice
Now cruising in his Pinto, he sees homies as he pass
But if he looks twice
They're gonna kick his lily ass
Now he's getting a tattoo
He's gettin' ink done
He asked for a '13', but they drew a '31'
Friends say he's trying too hard
And he's not quite hip
But in his own mind
He's the dopest trip
So don't debate, a player straight
You know he really doesn't get it anyway
He's gonna play the field, and keep it real
For you no way, for you no way
So if you don't rate, just overcompensate
At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake
The world needs wannabe's
The world loves wannabe's
So let's get some more wannabe's
And do that brand new thing

Punk's not dead
It just deserves to die
When it becomes another stale cartoon
A close-minded, self-centered social club
Ideas don't matter, it's who you know
If the music's gotten boring
It's because of the people
Who want everyone to sound the same
Who drive bright people out
Of our so-called scene
'Til all that's left
Is just a meaningless fad
Hardcore formulas are dogshit
Change and caring are what's real
Is this a state of mind
Or just another label?
The joy and hope of an alternative
Has become its own cliche
A hairstyle's not a lifestyle
Imagine Sid Vicious at 35
Who needs a scene
Scared to love and to feel
Judging everythng
By loud fast rules appeal
Who played last night?
"I don't know, I forgot.
But diving off the stage
Was a lot of fun."
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
Make the same old mistakes
Again and again
Chickenshit conformist
Like your parents
What's ripped us apart even more than drugs
Are the thieves and the goddamn liars
Flipping people off when they share their stuff
When someone falls are there any friends?
Harder core than thou for a year or two
Then it's time to get a real job
Others stay home, it's no fun to go out
When the gigs are wrecked by gangs and thugs
When the thugs form bands, look who gets record deals
From New York metal labels looking to scam
Who sign the most racist queerbashing bands they can find
To make a buck revving kids up for war
Walk tall, act small
Only as tough as gang approval
Unity is bullshit
When it's under someone's fat boot
Where's the common cause
Too many factions
Safely sulk in their shells
Agree with us on everything
Or we won't help with anythng
That kind of attitude
Just makes a split grow wider
Guess who's laughing while the world explodes
When we're all crybabies
Who fight best among ouselves
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
Make the same old mistakes
Again and again
Chickenshit conformist
Like your parents
That farty old rock and roll attitude's back
"It's competition, man, we wanna break big."
Who needs friends when the money's good?
That's right, the 70s are back.
****-rock metal's like a bad laxative
It just don't move me, ya know?
The music's OK when there's more ideas than solos
Do we really need the attitude too?
Shedding thin skin too quickly
As a fan it disappoints me
Same old stupid sexist lyrics
Or is Satan all you can think of?
Crossover is just another word
For lack of ideas
Maybe what we need
Are more trolls under the bridge
Will the metalheads finally learn something-
Or will the punks throw away their education?
No one's ever the best
Once they believe their own press
"Maturing" don't mean rehashing
Mistakes of the past
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
Make the same old mistakes
Again and again
Chickenshit conformist
Like your parents
The more things change
The more they stay the same
We can't grow
When we won't criticize ourselves
The 60s weren't all failure
It's the 70s that stunk
As the clock ticks we dig the same hole
Music scenes ain't real life
They won't get rid of the bomb
Won't eliminate rape
Or bring down the banks
Any kind of real change
Takes more time and work
Than changing channels on a TV set
So why are we
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
So eager to please
Peer pressure decrees
Make the same old mistakes
Again and again
Chickenshit conformist
Like your parents

One part of nerdity comes inevitably from, that's right, bullies. They cast you as a nerd, so you play that role. Conform to their stereotype - it's easier than fighting back. Don't try to becom anything else - they wouldn't believe it anyway. You can't hang out with the cool kids, so hang out with the losers instead. Be like them. You'll get bullied anyway, so why try to change what you are? You are better than them, anyway. You are nerd übermensch, they're future dropouts. You'll get higher-paying job than them. Just suffer, suffer, and then, laugh.
'course, all of this isn't true, but with little bullying, this thought pattern is surprisingly easy to fall back to.
Anyway, Albert, what we all really need is a thread about peer pressure. That's right, peeeeeer pressure. We all could use a good thread about benefits of peeeeeer pressure.
And Ramo, this continues straying off the thread, but it's better for this to become a lyrics thread, anyhow:
Buy my Snake Oil
I'm getting tired of being legendary and broke
And I'm too damn wierd to hold no straight job
My checkbooks feeling unfulfilled
Being an old underground die-hard
Won't pay the kid's dental bills
My Dad sez I got to learn to compromise
So I figure now's about that time
Now that I've run out of things to say
That alone will make my music Pay
Buy my snake oil
I used to be so angry
I aint getting any younger
Now I'm eager to please
C'mon and buy my snake oil
Till my well runs stinking dry
I'll be your Rondo Hatton
I'll be your Dwight Frye
Get mighty jealous watching
my old roomates getting signed
The world owes me a living
I want my taste of the pie
Woh-oh-oh
Buy my snake oil
Meet my new band : Tits Ass and Money
The most meaningless deliberateley watered down music I have ever made
Sing about my self instead of what's going on
Company tells me how my records should sound
Do what my manager tells me to
Every inch a rockin dude
Random shuffling same old cards
Bring on the night, she done me wrong
I love my weenie and I love my car
Man it's such hell being a rock -n- roll star
I'll tour 'till you wish I'd go home
Moan about my life on the road
200 overdubs to sound sincere
From now on every album sleeve's
Just a great big picture of me
Buy my snake oil
Critics cheer how I've matured
Got top management behind me, man
Phone rings like never before:
"I grew up on your stuff, man
it means so much to me.
I can hear it jinglin' now
In commercials selling beer..."
I got wiggle girl videos
In heavy rotation
If I dye my skin white enough
I'll buy me the elephant man
Woh-oh-oh
Buy my snake oil
And remember you got what you pay for
And if that doesn't work
I've got another idea
Now that I've signed on the dotted line
I'll call my music alternative
Same word those lovely people used
To hype the Knack in 1980
Join the
College dollar emo-jangle
Spoiled white music for spoiled white people
Pat those slackers on the head
To stroke and profit off of thier fears:
"Yeah man, It's Okay
Feel sorry for yourself all day
Life sucks cause it aint easy
Hapiness should be handed to me..."
Buy my snake oil
Cleansed of vision and sense
I'll bet your bottom dollar
You'll let me get away with this
I'll be your preganant junkie
Help you sell cigarettes
Or a lonely tortured muscle hunk
That no one understands
Punk without rebellion
We call it grunge for you
I'll dress just like Don Henley
And sing just like him too
Boohoo-hoo-hoo-hooo
Boohoo-hoo-hoo-hooo
Boohoo-hoo-hoo-hooo
Boohoo-hoo-hoo-hooo
(repeat till Burger King espresso arrives)
Down by the stream where my baby left me
I stand in my flannel shirt looking confused
A voice in the bushes say, "You got that look,
I'm from Geffen records How'd you like a million bucks."
O woh ho Poor pitiful me
Born white in the worlds richest country
I can't have my way life is so depressing
Nothing's as important as me and my girl
And if that still doesn't work
I got another idea
Give in
Ride the punk nostalgia wave
For all it's worth
Recycle the name of my old band
For a big reunion tour
Sing all those hits from the "good ol' days"
'Bout how bad the good ol' days were
And the orthodox
Fundamentalist faction of the crowd
Will say "Hooray!"
How politically correct
He's quit trying diffeent ideas at last
Obeying the same kind of stodgy rules
Punk used to rebel against
Buy my snake oil
This is all I've got to say
Unless this is your radio
Looks like you already have
Yeah, keep buying my snake oil
'Til my well runs stinking dry
I'll be your institution
Until the day I die
Who cares if inspirations gone
It's safe in this here stall
I'll give the fans just what they want
And nothing else at all
Woh-oh-oh
Buy my snake oil
Buy, Buy, Buy B-B-Buy-Buy
My snake oil
And remember
I did it all for the scene

Well, personally, I could never really beat anyone up... but I rememver always clashing with the guy who's locker was next to mine. He was the "star" in my high school, on the basjetball team, and the best player on the high school team. I was onw of the shortest kids freshman year when everyone takes gym and we were in the same class. Multiple times he would say stuff to me, and I wouldn't back down, I just came back at him, and I remember a bunch of the other guys kept telling me that eventually he was gonna kick my ass, hmmm, never did happen... although we were in a few shoving matches...
Anyways, I think this one fits better for AS
quote: How many people wanna kick some ass?
I used to be a nerd - Grew up in the suburbs
Nothing there ever went wrong - I made it up in this song
I talk about the hood - I say stuff like "It's all good"
Tell people I'm down with All the cool kids downtown
When I've never even been there.....
How many people wanna kick some ass? (I do, I do)
And how many people sick of holding it back? (I am) Well I am, too
So don't lay another finger on her
She's mine and I still want her
If you put your hands upon her
Youre a goner - goner
And how many people sick of holding it back? (I am I am)
And how many people wanna kick some ass? I would if I could
But I'm really just a sensitive artist - Perpertrating like I am the hardest
So spin your cap around to the back - You think you rhyme but you can't rap
Loosen that strap a little more - Until your axe hits the floor
Flip off your fans, and make them cheer - Try to look sincere
Anger's today's fashion
So sing another song about bashing someone's head in
How many people wanna kick some ass? (I do I do)
And how many people sick of holding it back? (I am) Well I am, too
So, don't lay another finger on her
She's mine and I still want her
If you put your hands upon her
Youre a goner - goner
And how many people sick of holding it back? (I am I am)
How many people wanna kick some ass? I would if I could
But I'm really just a sensitive artist, Perpertrating like I am the hardest
Acting like I'm not the smartest, I'm really just a sensitive artist
Awwww.... yeah!
So don't lay another finger on her
She's mine and I still want her
If you put your hands upon her
Youre a goner - goner
And how many people sick of holding it back? (I am I am)
And How many people wanna kick some ass?
I said, How many people wanna kick some ass?
How many people wanna kick some ass?
What're you gonna do when you're sick of holding it back?
I think I'll kick some ass
How many people wanna kick some ass? I would if I could
But I'm really just a sensitive artist Perpertrating like I am the hardest
Acting like I'm not the smartest But I'm really just a sensitive artist
...artist.
