Ya know, I bet that behind Albert's back, some other kids are going :
"There's that odd kid with crazy mother and he's always being polite on girls. What's up with him?"
"Yeah, and the way he posts on some boards about something called "Civilization"."
"I've heard he's a fascist. What kind of person would be fascist, I ask you?"
"Look at those Tommy Hilfigers he's always wearing. What's he trying to prove?"
"He's always listening to rap music, too."
"Yeah, yeah, rap music. Remember that time when he told us he lost his leather jacket and his mother was sending him to Lebanon? I've always wondered about that, you know."
"And when he was telling everyone about his crush on Lee-Ann. I mean, Lee-Ann? I mean, I'd fuck her, of course, but havin' a relationship with him?"
"That politeness thing is creeping me out, man. Is he trying to hit on them or something? They're probably creeped out too."
"That kid's sure is weird, man. I've heard he has Asberger's."
"Yeah. Better not tell him, though, he might kick our ass. Remember that one time in locker room...?"
And now, some lyrics:
INSIGHT
Who's that kid in the back of the room?
Who's that kid in the back of the room?
He's setting all his papers on fire
He's setting all his papers on fire
Where did he get that crazy smile?
Where did he get that crazy smile?
We all think he's really weird
We all think he's really weird
(chorus)
We never talk to him
He never looks quite right
He laughs at us
We just beat him up
What he sees escapes our sight
We never see him with the girls
We never see him with the girls
He's talking to himself again
He's talking to himself again
Why doesn't he want tons of friends?
Why doesn't he want tons of friends?
Says he's bored when we hang around
Says he's bored when we hang around
(chorus)
We never talk to him
He never looks quite right
He laughs at us
We just beat him up
What he sees escapes our sight
We're all planning our careers
We're all planning our careers
We're all planning our careers
He says we're growing old...
.........................................................................................................
"Straight A's"
Sixteen, on the honor roll
I wish that I was dead
Parents hate me, I got zits
And bruises 'round my head
Pressure's on to get good grades
So I can be like them
Do my homework all the time
I can't go out just then
People they ain't friends at all
They tease and suck me dry
Yell at me when I **** up
And party while I cry
I look so big on paper
I feel so ****ing small
Wanna die and you don't care
Just stride on down the hall
Suicide suicide
Read the paper, wonder why
Turn the light out, then you cry
It's your fault, you made me die
Touch me won't you touch me now
So frozen I can't love
When I was born my mama cried
And picked me up with gloves
Girls, they kick me in the eye
Want answers to the tests
When they get them they drive off
And leave me home to rest
Hold my head
Make me warm
Tell me I am loved
Give me hope
Let me cry
Make me feel
Give me touch
The window's broken bleeding screaming
Lying in the hall
I'm gone no one remembers me
A picture on the wall
"He was such a bright boy
The future in his hands:"
-Or a spineless human pinball
Shot around by your demands
Suicide suicide
Goin' to sleep and when I die
You'll look up and realize
Then look down and wipe your eyes
Then go back to your stupid lives
Aw ****

OK, I confess. I wear my shirt tales tucked in. Now here's something even worse: I have a pocket protector and I use it! Why? Because I write up 30+ charts/day, my pen is in and out of my pocket continuously, I don't have time to check to see if the point is retracted every time I put it back in, I have about a dozen pens in my pocket because I can't afforg the time to run back and forth looking for a new pen every time one runs out of ink, and I also have an EKG protractor, a ruler, and a penlight in my pocket, so that's a lot of weight in a shirt pocket and the pocket protector provides extra support so that I don't have to keep buying new shirts which would require increasing my fees.
That's Why.
So remember Mr Cool Hand Luke, the next time you're out running around in your Big Green Pleasure Machine, and you've got your shirt tails flapping in the wind, and the shirt tail hits you in the eye, and you don't see that truck coming at you, and you wind up wearing the imprint of a White Truck grill on your face; the guy doing your neurosurgery IS A NERD!!!!!! AH HA HA HA!!!!
