The Smiths have a really good sense of humour, they don't taking themselves seriously. I wouldn't call something like "Vicar in a Tutu" introvert and depressing...

Nickelback aren't particularly Rock. There's no energy. Rock needs energy!

I love Albert King. "Cold Feet" is one of my fav songs ever.

That's a very, very weird definition of Rock.

But nevertheless, have you heard Never Again or Money Bought?

Yeah, I don't seem to listen to pop-punk nowadays, just doesn't get me any more.

And just about all metal, ranging from Limp Bizkit to Slipknot to Pantera. I have never, ever seen the appeal of them at all and really just don't do it for me.

And Iain, we will have to reeducate you when it comes to issues Bad Religion

...and speaking of Jimmy Eat World

KX - I have to agree, unfortunately. Bad Religion's albums haven't been all that excellent recently. Nothing that great coming from them since Stranger Than Fiction. But I from what I heard from last month's release, it's much less bland.

I dunno, their more recent albums are 'different' although apart from the most recent album The Process Of Belief, which I think is pretty good, I don't actually possess any of their albums past Stranger Than Fiction so I couldn't really comment, but I've heard that 'Gray Race' is supposed to be a pretty good album...

And The Smiths do take the piss out of themselves as Snapcase stated. Listen to 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' for example

Bastards.

I name that tune in one Paranoid Android

Yeah, Nirvana is another one of those bands I never really got. At my age and my outlook, people would have expected them to be one of those bands I'd like, but I never did...ah well.

And Offspring. I like their earlier stuff; Smash and Ixnay are great albums, but past that, I can take it or leave it.

I hate the rap-metal crap that I guess some of the younger posters like.

Also the new U2 is bad. The old stuff in the 80s was absolutely excellent (them and REM kicked ass).

Also some of the pop-punk is getting old.

Then again, I've practically swore off the entire mainstream and went straight for country a year ago . And I haven't looked back since.

but the rest of that cd didn't do much for me either

i LOVE radiohead and the cure though. lol..it turns out that alot of us dislike the same music...so..that makes this thread sort of a paradox doesn't it...because the thread is "bands that everyoen else likes and you don't" but it doesn't seem like too many like them..at least here

Run? HEAD FOR THE HILLS!!!

Oh, they were okay earlyish, but they've been abysmal, yes, ABYSMAL! ever since. When Bono started with that ridiculous alter-ego, i knew he'd lost the plot. And that song lemon, now that's just inviting disaster! And as for Edge, if i ever met him, i'd slap him around until he surrendered his real name

Okay, some other bands I forgot to mention in the first post...

Jane's Addiction. Boring as hell, with the exception of a few songs.

Jimi Hendrix. Not bad, but I can't figure out what's so great about him.
