I made a little mistake there... the know/now pair doesn't equal here/hear etc.
But I do write 'now' instead of 'know' sometimes, because you don't pronounce the 'k' in 'know', and I think 'no' and 'know' at the same time, and what is produced is 'now'. So it really isn't the 'now' that's the actual word, but it's jibberish that's identical to a proper word. I think.
