This boils down to 2 issues: abortions and STDs.

Issue 1: Assuming you don't particularly want a kid. How does your partner feel about an abortion? Remember, accidents happen. If under no circumstances your partner will abort, then condoms are a must.

Issue 2: Test for STDs. If you are SURE that neither of you have STDs (And that your partner isn't lying about it) then the only issue is #1.

If I know enough about a person that I can be CERTAIN that he is trustworthy, then after having been with him monogamously for a certain period of time, I would do away with condoms after we have both been tested.

But the question for myself is what amount of time would be reasonable to engage in sex without condoms? At least a year? Or two years?

I used to use them. Since my fiancee uses a contraceptive, I don't need them anymore. Needless to say, both of us are clean.

i usually have my partner use them whether i'm using the pill or no
just because my mother became pregnant with my sister while using both.....
and i'd just like that bit of protection ....

Depending on where you met the person and how trustworthy they are, anywhere from 2 weeks to never. I don't tend to date girls who have "been around" all that much. Maybe it's just me, but while most of the girls I know aren't virgins, they haven't exactly had dozens of sexual partners either. My total number of partners is probably going to stay in the single digits, and I'm pretty comfortable with that.

I hate condoms. but I sleep with a lot of sluts . But I usually just sleep with women who I know I can get a quick lay from. I deperately seek out "good" women. But I just can't maintin a relationship . So I just seek out loose women. I really would like to settle down with a nice women I don't have to worry about std's. I don't like any std. I don't want anything growing on my you know what.

so for me it is always. I have never went without a condom (except getting a hand job). But you can still get herpes. That worries me.

One guy I dated a couple of times actually admitted his ignorance when I told him I was going to use a condom with him even if I was going to be the top.

He actually said something like this -- "But I do not have any STDs, and you said you do not have any. Besides, I'm going to be the bottom -- so how would you get STDs even if I did have something?"

Basically, he thought that as a top, I could not get any STDs from a bottom.
