	Another suicide bombing:Why doesn't Israel deal with it? Tired of ads?

Many as many as 40 injured. As an American, I cannot understand why Israel doesn't respond to this with a scorched earth policy.

I understand that such a policy would kill or displace many innocent people but the Palestinian have to be held responsible at some point. Do they not?

The whole problem is, the PLO bombs in retaliation for Israel's payback for the PLO's transgression over Israel's reciprocation of...
It's just a vicious cycle.

Well, with the current American pressure on Israel, they probably won't retaliate for this assault. This might actually break a vicious circle. I only ope that the Islamic Jihad and Hamas will understand that this is the time to stop teracts and have a small chance on actually achieving peace. Arafat seems to be willing to discuss peace terms at least.

I understand the cycle of violence, its endless, this has been going on for almost 60 years. I can't see any solution other than brute force. It seems to be degenerating into a fight for survival.

It is only a matter of time until anti-israeli entities obtain and use weapons of mass destruction. These people that advocate suicide bombing will not stop short of that.

If Israel doesn't act first they are surely doomed. Thats just how I see it.

Israel didnt come over one day and decide to go blow up a bunch of Palestinian civilians. The palestinians started it, and they continue it. If the Palestinians stop(wont happen.......they wont stop till Israel is no more)than the Israelis will have nothing to retaliate against. You cant say to Israel stop, as the Palestinians will continue, they are the agressors.

There's only three things that Israel can do to make this stop:

1. Genocide/mass deportation.
2. Get a large chunk of the Palestinians to hate the "terrorists" enough to cooperate in an large-scale effort at crushing them (best way of doing this is cutting off their financial resources so that they have to turn to shaking down their fellow Palestinians in order to get $'s. However this isn't very likely since the incredibly counter-productive Israeli economic sanctions have made the average Palestinian rather poor).
3. Actually allow people to exercise democratic self-determination over the land they're living on.

Option 4 (large-scale collective punishment of innocent Palestinians coupled with assassinations of militants) hasn't worked since for every "terrorist" they kill they make two more Palestinians hate them enough attack them. And because of the horrific poverty in the occupied territories the Palestinians don't have all that much to lose if they take up arms against the occupying forces.

Because of general Israeli idiocy it seems that 1 or three are the only real options left on the table, and it this point it seems that the Saudi peace plan is the most feasable one around at the moment.

This isn't to say that setting of nail bombs designed to massacre large numbers of civilians etc. etc. (if I were the Palestinians I'd stick to targets in the occupied territories) is either moral or productive, but a lot of the decrying of terrorism on the part of the Israelis is incredibly hypocritical considering that Israeli resistance against the British is what pretty much started the tradition of Mid-east terrorism.
