I think, as has been demonstrated already, there's as many definitions as there are people using the words. I, for one, would not get connotations of "sluttiness" with gorgeous under any circumstances, so I've been puzzling over where that came from.

Cute, to me, does mean good looking, but with connotations of being very young. Not many girls remain "cute" after their teens. If you want a long lesson on cuteness, look at Japan, where they've got a whole "cute culture" thing going. Cardcaptor Sakura, for instance, is cute.

Pretty is, of course, good looking, with beautiful being a "higher state" of good-looking-ness. Gorgeous is kind of the next step up, but usually only applies when some greater than usual effort has gone into the appearance.
Sexy is a whole different thing, more about attitude and action than appearance.

Guys just tell girls it's about the eyes or hair to kiss ass with them. Since facial features are seen as more "soulful" and body features as more animalistic.

cute: describes someone who is "girl next door" attractive, ie, you could meet them anywhere, but definately they catch your eye, to me it also implies a good attitude as well, cheerful, very fun to be with. personally, i'd date someone who i thought was cute before i'd date someone from the other categories.

pretty: describes someone who you're likely to meet anywhere, but says nothing about personality. A girl with a bad attitude, or is personably unattractive is often described by me like. . "Well, she's pretty but. . . " not cute, in otherwords. not attractive, besides physically.

beautiful: to me, this describes someone i'm already with. to the point where you like someone so much, that they are ESPECIALLY attractive in all regards, because you like them so much. Because you know them so well, because you've been with them so long, you get the picture. Someone i just meet isn't going to be described as beautiful by me. i've got to have been "with" them for a while before there's a chance i'll think they're beautiful

gorgeous: i don't really like this word, nor use it.

sexy: doesn't necessarily have to be VERY physically attractive. . . should be somewhat, but the idea is their whole persona, their whole way of carrying themselves and interacting with others makes them physically desirable. Could be in alot of different ways, too, not just "sultry" or "temptuous" . . .

and, for lack of other female body parts that i also like and WOULD have voted for, really nice eyes are breathtaking.

I have to agree with MikeH on the definitions. This girl I use to see a lot set me straight on it after I apparently misused gorgeous. (The Third Eye Blind song made much more sense afterwards). Also, MikeH has been very knowledgable about this ever since a few years ago when we were discussing Lara on the 2nd SMAC boards and he compared sizes to one of his old voluptous girl friends.

well cute is a general term. I could call BW cute. She is of course. When I say cute I mean not ugly. So it is a compliment from me. Saying someone is cute is saying they aren't ugly. 'nuff said about cute.

Pretty. A little more descriptive than cute. It's one step up. It's cute, but with more intent on a desire to form a physical relationship. But not used to describe drop dead gorgeous.

Beautiful: one step up from pretty.

Gorgeous. A step up from beautiful. I use mainly to describe women in a movie star type of way. Not many women I see on the street I call gorgeous. But I live in Vegas, so I do occasionally see women of this description.

edit: I forgot sexy. It's not a word I use much. But I guess that would be beautiful in a more f*ckable way. Of course I want to f*ck beautiful woman, but sexy means I want to f*ck them immediately . I'm not saying this is what the doctor meant, so don't take it the wrong way. Some women get offended when men say they want to f*ck them. Can't figure out why

edit: attractive. I forgot this one. It's pretty much the same as pretty in my book. But it might be a cross between cute and pretty. But it seems like a weak word. So maybe in between cute and pretty is accurrate.

What's important for me is the face. Eyes are important. Good looking hair is always an attraction.

Boobs should be nice and proportional. I hate overly large, or fake boobs.

an inviting face and behaviour
an inviting attitude
pretty - good face, tolerable body/
