That is the save file that crashes -- 4000.sav.
Let's see. Video card is Creative 3D Blaster Riva TNT2 w/32 megs. Just updated the drivers a couple weeks ago.
Attached is the debug log. Like I said, it crashed as soon as I left-clicked on a unit. Hope it helps.

Ok, I know what the problem is, but I'm gonna need the save file to actually fix it.

Hi, get the screen also with the new download.
How can I check if a i am in the 32 bit mode? |
Right click on your desktop and select properties and then selected settings, you can change to 32bit mode there.

It should actually work in 24 or 32, I just said 32 because that's what I work with.

Just to give you all a quick update on what I've been doing, I've been working on the ability to add units to save games, (see attachment) as you can see I have tanks in 4000BC, hehe!!!
I'm almost done with this feature and I should have it ready some time Tuesday or if things go bad then it'll be wednesday.
When adding new units you can set if the unit is fortified or not, you can set the units nationality, how many hit points the unit has taken and the level of experience.
Cheers.
James.

good to see you got it working. Have you figured out if there is anything specific with adding of pop-units? |
Pop-Units???
If you mean settlers then no, I can add a settler and it seems to be fine. But there's still plenty to find out about the units section.

I mean Settlers and workers. Dome C3MT users have had problems with adding 3+ Settlers, when founding cities with them, and I'm still trying to figure out why. |
Well I've just added 6 settlers, built 4 citys and still have 3 settlers left, and no crash in sight.
So all should be well until some one else uses it, hehe!!!

Adding units will come in the next version, in the current version you can move them around on the map.
As for the magenta I might have a look at that for the next version but it's bottom of my list at the moment.

I haven't downloaded the file yet, but the prospect of playing 4000BC scenarios with PROPER STARTING LOCATIONS... well, that would really add value to Civ 3 for me and friends who play on my machine.
Thanks for your efforts so far, and your ongoing ambitions for this excellent project. Fans like you keep games alive long after they have ceased to be sold and officially supported. I for one really appreciate what you are doing. Well done.

And to use the mouse to move? |
It is possible to use the mouse and move the map at the same time!
It would take some time to make the map zoomable, as I would much rather spend my time getting features in to the editor, putting in a zoomable map is at the bottom of my list.
Sorry.
James.

Excellent work Jimmy, I suggest calling it Jimmys Workshop or something..
If you need any help, I could help with coding, i'm a professional games coder, i've nearly got sprite bitmap scaling to work, which would be a start for fully zoomable maps.
The program works quite well, Its quite an achievement showing where all the units on the map are and the maps themselves.
It crashes unfortunetly when I try to click on a unit to do anything, maybe because i'm on a giant map with probably about 1000 units in total.
It gives a page error.. and debugging with VC++ says its an Unhandled Exception, which sounds like a code error.
Its Windows98. P3 450, 580MB RAM
I suggest you add a delete unit option too.

PS. Keep up the good work, will be great when a Roman Empire scenario or Pacific World war 2 scenario will be created... think oil resource rushes with japan and america trying to cut off islands harbours...

I just downloaded it and can not get it to work, I have the last version of CIV3 so perhaps that is the reason.
If not then I could really use your help.
What it do is that the map is 100% black, and it crash whenever I click somewhere on it.
I have attached one of my save games.

Is this project still alive, or has it been scuppered by v1.21f?

hellooooooo.....???
Whatever happened to this project? Seems 1.21f killed the few things we had going. Oh, but Play The World will make it all better. Sure, months from now.
So this is it then, huh? Not even going to try?
