You're right.

We're actually 5th place out of the 7 civs we know on the histograph screen. (We haven't met Germany yet.)

Not much in terms of turn-by-turn, so here's a summary.

Science cut to 10%. Researching on this level is a waste of resources...too bad we didn't know that earlier...regent strategies aren't going to pull this one out.

Traded for Invention and Engineering.

Signed a Mutual protection/Right of Passage with Persia. Looks like it's time to trash the Aztecs, aided by our powerful new ally.

Upgrading/Building knights. They should be of some use, I hope.

Our knights are in position to attack the Aztecs, but I'll leave it to the next person's discretion.

Free advice for next player: Hopefully we can get some table scraps from a war with Persia as an ally. At the very least, we can outlast someone and at least see a few beat up faces on the "you lost" screen.

Domestic:
In 1090 most cities were switched to commercial production to get money to upgrade our army. A harbor was built in Babylon and we can now trade with everyone as a result.

Trade:
Traded silks for gems w/iroqs in 1100.
Renewed iron trade with Persia for gems and 6 gold per turn (gpt).
Traded wines for dyes with Germany in 1170.Discovered we have no source of saltpeter .

Military:
Went to war with the Aztecs in 1090 after renegotiating peace led them to only accepting if we gave them gems. Tula was captured in 1100, and then a series of battles in Persia resulted. Although they did attack our units, for some reason Persia never joined the war. In the treaty we got Tamuin, gunpowder, 53 gold, and their territory map. Our knight-longbow army is getting quite large and the upgrade process is nearly halfway done. Pikemen are being built in Babylon and sent off to the other cities for defense.

Foreign:
MPP ended in 1265 and the RoP was renewed for 4 gpt and 67 gold.
An embassy was built in England in 1240.

Science:
We bought chemistry from the iroqs in 1220 and currently are researching theology. 2 techs were gained: chemistry and gunpowder.

World Headlines/Other:
England was destroyed by the iroqs in 1270!

set Tamuin to temple so we dont' get swallowed
Get 10 gpt for wines from america
get 5 gpt for gems from germany
get iron for gems and 100 gold from persia
Iroquois declare war on Persia decide to take advantage and obtain silks for us and a extra silk for trading
i lose 2 knights but obtain canterbury and 2 silks/1 extra
for about 10 turns we are at war with Iroquois, they then sue for peace cause Persians kicked their asses(i could tell cause i saw 20 rifleman head for Iroquois territory
I set ashur to fp as placeholder for future leader
we discover source of saltpeter in North Tula Desert
obtain Metallurgy Education Military Tradition and Theology
our treasury is now around 187
Persia now Gracious cause i traded rop for silks
canterbury and tamuin both set to temple

Trickey, you're more than welcome to play. Looks like this succession game is getting revived from the world of the almost dead.

In fact, if you want to play, go ahead and take your turn, since we are at the end of the turn cycle, and you would be added on at the end.

I'd like to try. But to be honest, I have never played at the Monarch level. I have, at best, led a miserable existence on the Warlord level, so beware my inexperience. If not, that's fine. I have enjoyed the postings and will continue to read on.
