Okay, I guess I can just post this publicly:

If the German player has, infact, been cheating (via hex editing the save or whatever - and I hope he has not - I trust he will explain this and the game will continue) then we have a problem. If no satisfactory explanation is given, the game in not over, we just have no choice but to fairly partision Germany through the League of Nations and execute a plan to remove the Germans from the game. Perhaps the CivCity utillity could be use on the save to redistribute German cities? This would prevent us from even needing to fight it out.

This really is strange Let Scott get back to us and then we'll see what we have to do.

I don't think we need to partition Germany, just get a new player if this is true. Also if we did, it would be easy enough through playing Mulitplayer at the same time as the German player ie Germany and France online trade cities.

I hope it isn't needed...

According to ANZAC all a new election takes is a proposal and a confirmation. He proposed, and I confirmed, so I thought that a new election would come now, not a vote on whether we will elect.

Scott, please, your explanations???

I'm not accusing you of something, BUT SAS noticed something weird!! So I'm quite willing to believe any sensible explanation, but this explanation seems to be needed...

And to the others: please, don't jump on him too early! Let Scott speak before talking about cheating, or dismembering Germany, or whatever!

I haven't got much experience in pbem, but it's not the first time someone is accused of cheating in one where I take part, and the last time... he was not guilty!!! As some of you surely remember...

Fair enough, I did mention that I hope he will explain it all. Perhaps I am getting ahead. Its just even if the units were gifted from somebody else, another Civ would have VERY low numbers of units. We will see...

In the Disraeli proposals that everyone agreed to, it says one motion and one supporting no confidence vote is enough to start elections, with a reason as well. I have looked on the internet to see how exactly it is done in parliamentary democracies, but I haven't been able to find anything about the UK as it has no constitution Can anyone tell me how the no confidence vote works in your country, expecially Britain.

When the election finishes, I'd like to try to make a workin constitution for the League.

We are getting ahead of ourselves. But If the game continues (as it should - no matter what ) the new S.G. will be responsible for drawing up a constitution for the League of Nations. How no confedence votes work in the U.K. is irrelavent becasue our nations agreed to the Disraeli proposal which said (AFAIK) that elections can be called by two people expressing dissatisfaction.
That has happened. I'll add my voice as well, so that is three.

As I said, even if Germany has to be removed from the game, we should continue. Sas, there were historical situations simmilar to what may have happened / may yet happen here. It may make the game MORE interesting. We will see.

sas: It doesn't have to be dead. And we are jumping the gun a little

Jacobite: you are right with the point abou the Disraeli proposal. But I am just thinking that it coul dbe taken advantage of and not used fairly, so I wanted to see what other things are out there.

If I do get elected, though, I am going to rework completely a constitution and reform the current League; as of right now the League doe not have much power or authority.

BTW anymore votes? I don't want to have to round you guys up

To illustrate these warm feelings, and to speed up the reform of the league, The Russian candiate will withdraw from the S.G. election. We look forward to working closely with ANZAC, as Our vote for him gives him a majorty.

I don't know what is wrong. I've been buying units like mad since the start of the game (after rushing some industrial improvements and engineers), much to the detriment of my science rate (Austria will likely get techs before I do). There have also been a lot of file changes by soundwave since the start of the game. Does anyone have a copy of the specific rules files so that we can all be on the right page with regards to that? If I've been using an old or wrong rules file, I'm sorry. Other than that, I don't know what could be wrong.

No, i'm afraid that doesnt settle it. It still dont explain how you can build 59 Units in on turn. And for the other rounds you allso build a lot of units. The cost to build that amount of units in so little time is simple impossible, even if he sold all his improvements in all his cities.

Oops, sorry sas, you're right. Regardless of the rules dile being different, the Germans have only 39 cities. Even if the rules file had every unit cost ten shields, he could still build no more than 39, and that's it. Hmmm...

The cost to rush buy a single French infantry is 320 gold. At the rate he buit his units (not considering the 59 units issue) he would have rush build at least 100 units. Infantry as the cheapest alternative would have cost 32.000 gold.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Case does have a point. Maybe we could have someone outside of this game peak in on the unit numbers in the save on the German turn just so we can see if there are outrageous amounts of units?

Great Britain celebrates win for SG!

I am very happy to accept this honor with gratitude and I want to do as much as possible to build up the League as a respectable organization. First, I am planning to make a working constitution for thre League so its laws and processes are setup. Also I would like to have this open for discussion among the League members as well. I will have a draft ready as soon as possible. Suggestions are welcome!

Could we get someone from outside the game to look at the save and decided if there is something irregular? I want to see the game continue, so I am prepared to accept ANY believable explanation. Could Scott have an events file or some such that would give him units?

Yes, I think the only way to settle this (IMHO) is that someone from outside takes a look at the saves : is that alright with you, Scott??

And for the SG: it seems that, once again, the League is ignoring Italy, as the congratulations for the election are flying even BEFORE Italy cast its vote...

Not that I mind ANZAC's election, but as the League has nothing to do with Italy and keeps on ignoring us, we have no other choice than to resign from the League!!

So let it be known that Italy quits the League at once!

Come, now! Congratulations are being issued because the U.K. has acchieved an unbeatable majority! Not because we are ignoring our Italian friends. Please reconsider your exit from the League. Perhaps Italy was not well treated in the Spanish arrangement: this is all the more reason to stay with us and help reform the League in to something fair and useful. Do not take the path of isolation for you will need friends in the future and none will come to your aid if you turn your back on the League now. The Italian Empire has a DUTY to remain in the League, to insure peace in Europe & the world.

Please reconsider, Russia left and returned, just retract the statement.
