I don't understand it. I don't know the first thing about hex editing (I wish that I did, as I would like to turn off global warming in my Harry Turtledove scenario). My personal theory is that I accidentally played with the wrong rules file. (I had been playing the game in single player and was messing with it. I thought I had copied the old one back, but apparently not.)
At any rate, sas has been trying to get rid of me from the game from the beginning, calling for votes to get me kicked out even because of minor delays in posting my save game file due to my crappy and limited internet access. Real life circumstances will be keeping me away from the game anyway. My computer has died from putting Windows XP on it and I am presently hunting for a new job. I won't have much in the way of internet access for at least a week, which is (to say the least) very inconvenient at a time like this.
Someone else can take Germany if they want, assuming that whatever is wrong can be fixed.

If Scott wants to quit, ok, that's his choice!!
But I wish we could discover what really happened, because now some people might not trust him any longer (I still would, because we only had "hints" which, however strog they are, are no evidence...)...
And about the "unification" of A-H and Germany (after destruction of the extra improvements and units): sorry, but no, I don't agree!!!
OK, it would be historically coherent, BUT the player would be in a much too strong position!!
Just my opinion, of course...

First to ANZAC: yes, I saw it too, it looked like the stats for a RPG, didn't it?? with H.P., exp., etc.
Weird...
And about the game: I would prefer 2 players for Germany and A-H, I agree for 1, BUT I fully disagree on a partition of Germany!
And about this, it won't be so easy for you to make me change my mind this time...
And about recreating history: I think we don't need to push in that direction: if it occurs, fine, if it doesn't, even better: more surprises...

No i dont wanna have two civs anyway, not historical anyway. Austria will not follow Germany in 'Auchluss'
So in other words we need a new Germany and some answers like Cyrion said!

Germany, but we don't have one.
Ok, today I'm going around trying to find subs for all my games as I will also be gone for three weeks, from Thursday, June 20 to Thursday, July 11 to be precise. I am going to put up threads here and at Apolyton to hunt for subs, but before I do so I'm going to all of the games in which my civs have allies and asking whether my allied player would be willing to do my turns while I'm gone.
I don't have any allies in this game, but since there is a stable peace I thought there wouldn't be any conflicts of interest if another player here did the Turkish turns. Would anyone here be willing to throw in the Turkish turns while I'm gone, or should I find a sub for this one? Reply soon as I need to put up those sub-hunt threads soon.
