quote: You let money interfer with your principles |
No I didn't. All I did was sign up for something I have no intention of ever honoring, because if I didn't, I would have been prevented from seeking an education or receiving need or academic based financial aid.
I have no problem lying or misrepresenting myself to an immoral government.

quote: I'm just curious. If the US Constitution provides freedom from the draft, how come the US uses the draft when circumstances warrant it? |
Because, clearly, the US doesn't generally follow the Constitutuin anymore. I thought that was a given.

See, I'd just LOVE to take on a DI who thinks he can force me in the military. Anytime.

quote: Surely you don't think the government owes you financial aid? |
Certainly not. But SS has nothing to do with it - making it an issue is frankly bullshit.
In any case, all of my current financial aid comes from non-federal sources, so let's not start.
Ramo,
quote: I consider coercion immoral. You don't like it, too bad. |
So do I, but wouldn't you agree that that position is more easily supported from a position that doesn't involves relative morality?

No, if you'd read my other posts you'd see I'm more than willing to fight the government, DIs, whatever, sooner than have them force me into anything.
And frankly, I'm getting sick of the "good ole boys" network (you know who you are) and their self-righteous "we're right regardless of silly things like logic and rights" attitude.
Either respond to my points or go away, but don't insult me for the hell of it.

I never said anything about targeting innocent people.

quote: We're going through!" The Commander's voice was like thin ice breaking. He wore his full-dress uniform, with the heavily braided white cap pulled down rakishly over one cold gray eye. "We can't make it, sir. It's spoiling for a hurricane, if you ask me." "I'm not asking you, Lieutenant Berg," said the Commander. "Throw on the power lights! Rev her up to 8,500! We're going through!" The pounding of the cylinders increased: ta-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa. The Commander stared at the ice forming on the pilot window. He walked over and twisted a row of complicated dials. "Switch on No. 8 auxiliary!" he shouted. "Switch on No. 8 auxiliary!" repeated Lieutenant Berg. "Full strength in No. 3 turret!" shouted the Commander. "Full strength in No. 3 turret!" The crew, bending to their various tasks in the huge, hurtling eight-engined Navy hydroplane, looked at each other and grinned. "The old man will get us through" they said to one another. "The Old Man ain't afraid of Hell!" . . .
"Not so fast! You're driving too fast!" said Mrs. Mitty. "What are you driving so fast for?"
"Hmm?" said Walter Mitty. He looked at his wife, in the seat beside him, with shocked astonishment. She seemed grossly unfamiliar, like a strange woman who had yelled at him in a crowd. "You were up to fifty-five," she said. "You know I don't like to go more than forty. You were up to fifty-five." Walter Mitty drove on toward Waterbury in silence, the roaring of the SN202 through the worst storm in twenty years of Navy flying fading in the remote, intimate airways of his mind. |

quote: Didn't you say you would be willing to plant bombs? Who was that? |
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I'd fight anyone who tried to draft me by any means necssary. Enough said.
Ramo,
quote: Yes. But first, you'd have point to me a justification that doesn't involve morality |
Would you agree you own yourself?
