Isn't Florida the state with all those seawalls or whatever designed to trap sand, so that your neighbour ALSO needs to build one if he doesn't want his beach to dissapear, and so on down the line?

but I still won't think that it would come to a standstill between Israel and Egypt. Egypt was in such an advantegeous a position in 73' , with top-notch soviet equipment and instructors, great numerical superiority, and still couldn't make it.

Fact is , the soviet soldiers (mostly SAM operators , and a few pilots ) were on par with the Israelis , and shot down lots of Israeli aircraft. The egyptians haven't done it. Soviets trained the egyptian army, Americans did... It's all the same . Israel already had been against better equipped armies in 73' and still made it. It was thanks to the US, but only because Golda forgot that even if Israel won a war in a great way, that didn't mean that another war won't happen , and so forgot to ressuply. These days , Israel can produce tanks , bullets, missiles, shells, rifles. So we're pretty self sufficient. drastic measures would be required if a total war would continue over three months, but it's not like that wasn't done before , as well.

well, egypt's artillery and infantry ratio is superior to Israel's . we've got more armor though , and it's better too . also , our artillery is mostly SP , while theirs is still mainly towed. Our older conscripts have all served before in the military in combat forces , and the younger ones are all better trained . our Air force is better , and our logistics and intelligence is surpassable only by a superpower. So we've got the edge, sort to speak.

Egypt has less intestinal parasites in the Delta and they won't have to worry about it silting up anymore. There were good techinical reasons why the US didn't get involved in the Aswan Dam project.
