Here's another important reason for our being on the 'poly site! We've got a ferociously talented team put together, and I have every confidence in our abilities to get this thing done....however, it would be easier to get everything done if we could interest a few more people with specific skill sets to the project.
To that end, here's what we're currently a bit short on.
1) Artists! We've got ten programmers, and two artists. A bit unbalanced. So....if there's anybody out there who knows a thing or three about photoshop, poser, and/or Bryce (or, is artisitically inclined and willing to learn), contact me at WebMaster@velociryx.every1.net!
2) Sound! Right now, is spookily quiet in the Kingdom of Candle'Bre, cos we have no sound expert, and we could sure use one! Again, contact me at the e-mail addy above if you're good with music and sound effects! We could use a hand!
3) Testers! Well, we don't need any right now, but once we get a working Beta out, we'll need as many as we can lay our hands on!

Well, I wish you best of luck on making this game and all other future games. I would love to help with the game, but I don't have the time because of my own endeavours*. However, I'll be sure to keep tabs on the game.
*I've been learning C++ for the past couple of months, and I've made two text based games so far (look at my sig). Currently I'm working on a variation of a pacman game that will include a refined random map generator, but it's still going to be a console app. My goal is to do exactly as you are, Vel, and that is to create my own commercial games. More than likely this will be possible for me within a year or so, I think. I've been giving it a lot of thought for a while now, and as time has gone on it's becoming more and more realistic.
A few questions that I have that don't relate soley to the game, and are mainly for my own personal benefit. If you don't mind I'd appreciate it if you could answere these. How is/was the group setup? I know the basics of it, but did you individually ask these people to help you out? Are all of the members from Apolyton? Who are all of the team members? How many members do you have total, if the number of 10 programmers and 2 artists has changed? How long have each of you been programming? How are you arranging for the coding process to take place? How will you be distributing the game (I know the OS and free parts of it)? How do you arrange meetings and such? What actions are you taking for the legal process? How long do you foresee this game taking to be fully complete? How will you be supporting this game after it's complete version is released? What API will you be using? Why did you choose Java as the language of choice?
I know that I have a lot of questions, but if you could take the time out to answer them I would be very grateful, thanks.
