	Bush Hits Post 9/11 Low. Support Apolyton

It's about time the population clued in. Though it still seems as though he's getting away with the 9-11 conspiracy, which is... deeply disturbing. If a president's approval rating falls below 50%, can they do anything to oust him, like the American equivalent of a vote of non-confidence? Or is he staying for the whole term, unless impeached?

Also interesting to note that the poll says 58% of Americans think that Israel should withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories... including the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

I wonder how representative that poll actually is though... though they state a sampling error of 3%, a sample size of 1002 people out of the total population of the United States strikes me as dubiously representative. Ten times that would be a much safer sample size for a national poll.

The slightly lower numbers are inevitable and healthy. I'm guessing that his handling of the Middle East conflict had some impact on it. At the time, it appeared like the US was impotent, but now it looks like the right course was chosen. That should take a couple of weeks to settle in...

Althought 70% support his handling and the direction of the WoT. Most are angry at the ME thing, but they are still a solid majority behind Israeli's right to Exist.

Of course, such idiot conspiracy folks dont realize you can just put the pipe through China or somthing (according to the "conspiracy" thats where the energy will be going). I can imagine the afghans would be blowing it up everyday anyway. Surely this conspiracy theory is too flawed to believe.

Btw, according to the latest poll on the issue, 53% of the American Jews will vote Republican, while ~35% will vote for the Democrats.

Jews are usually more conservative here. most are not Zionists and consider themselves as American as apple pie. But in some area's like NY the jewish vote is important (usually liberal)

Talking about Bush's numbers are premature, BUT:

Democrats have assumed a strong lead among voters in the 2002 race for Congress. Democratic candidates are the choice of 36% of the respondents, with Republican candidates the choice of 30%. Another 4% choose neither party's candidate, and 31% are not sure.

That's a good sign that we won't have to put up with the peanut-brained GOPers in the House after this year.

There's no equivalent of a no-confidence vote in America. If we did have, we'd have to replace the main entrance of the White House with a revolving door.

The President serves out his term unless he is impeached & convicted, resigns, dies or becomes disabled.

Is that mentally or physically? If physically, how come Roosevelt was elected, if mentally how come Bush (either of them) was elected?

The elder Bush was perhaps the smartest President we've ever had. And the current President is no slouch either. Of course the left doesn't care. The love to engage in character assasination.

Disablement means they can't carry out the office. Which should have been said for Wilson in his last year of administration.

Clinton was easily one of the smartest presidents in recent times. Jefferson was probably the single smartest leader of any country ever.

The current President is not a complete idiot, but he's never succeeded in anything he's tried to do on his own, which should tell you something. He certainly isn't intelligent enough to be President and is clearly overwhelmed in the job. He has no real policy of his own, which is why he keeps bouncing around on issues, as he listens first to one cabinet member, and then another.

But then again, we didn't elect him.

And didn't Gore do any Fraud? No bribing homeless voters with cigerattes. No illegaly keeping polls open later then they should be? No felons voting?

This was pretty predictable that as action wanes, so too would the poll numbers of Bush and the Republican Party. If we see renewed conflict(Such as an attack on Iraq), those numbers should probably go up.
