Hey all. I'm very pleased with the pace of the game so far, this is how PBEM is supposed to be played. I wanted to bring up some issues with everybody, more specifically I wanted to talk about the rules. There are easy ways to cheat in this style of game, although some don't consider these cheating. For example, you can open somebody else's turn and see what they're up to. There are more but I don't want to give anybody ideas .

I think we all know what is fair and what isn't. If you guys want to play all-out, no rules PBEM that's ok. I would prefer not, myself, but I'll go with the consensus. I like to play courteously myself, and would vote for a gentlemans game. Any comments on this?

David42one... I'm surprised that anybody here at 'poly would even be tempted to cheat... it brings nothing but ruining the fun of the game.

Obviously, you can count me in for a gentleman's game... though that doesn't mean I won't be using stealth units!

Thats great! -I am pleased that such a cordial agreement has been reached - Please feel free to send turns that you would like me to see with an explanation of why - but ALWAYS maintain at least the last 5 turns - more would be better .

well, I certainly didn't mean to imply that anybody is cheating. I'm still pretty new to this community, and one of the things that discouraged me right away was how easy it would be to cheat and not get caught. I don't know why people would play unfairly, I've never understood the cheater mentality(played counterstrike?). IMHO, the only way somebody cheating could have fun is by completely lying to themself. I'm glad we all agree, I feel that this will be a good game.

I understand where you're coming from though... we're all pretty honest around here from my experiance though. Unlike Counterstrike (which I've never played) I'm pretty sure everybody knows how easy it would be to cheat and therefore the only way to combat it is to be honest and not... and you're right, the only way you could have fun would be to lie to themselves.

Glad to see the turns are going quickly though.

Do you folks only use diplomacy offerd through th game engin and diplomacy screens or do you allow email, private message, etc. between players to form pacts and alliances?

I am new and don't know what your standing practice is.

agagnon - emailing private messaging the lot is of course allowed- you may dicuss tactics with any player at great length - no restrictions there

I would put unfortunately on weekends we don't enforce the 24 hour rule..... I know it is a pain in the Butt, but it is often the case than Flameflash is away weekends... BUT if u sent the turn on Friday, I will play it if u forward copy to me- I am finding it difficult to follow what turn went where too - so in addition to propaganda can u post turn X to whoever too!!!!
