I hope this doesn's sound insensitive,

but have you ever noticed that when a train or ferry or bus has an accident in a third world country, it's always some terribly high number of poeple that get killed. A train derails in the US and six people die with dozens hurt. A train derails in India and you have hundreds of deaths. Or you hear of a ferry capsizing and killing hundreds. what is up with that. Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

With the Ferries they are almost always old and in poor condition (would not be allowed to sail in NA or Europe). And they are ALLWAYS overloaded. Several have capsized when to many people moved to one side of the Ferry.

Trains are overloaded as well.

Oh give me a break - "terrorists" don't go around blowing up mail boxes in rural areas. Any teenager could dream up a note to spice up the attack and fool the gullible, i.e. people like you.

I'm sure there's a bunch of kids down laughing their heads off at all the publicity they are getting.

Next thing you'll be telling me is people who pepper country road signs with shot are terrorists

Sprayber, lots more folks pack onto those ferries and trains and busses in the 3rd world. Plus, as others have mentioned, their equipment is old and usually not very well serviced. Often it's used equipment sold from the 1st world where it doesn't meet safety specs anymore.

Wow, I see Galena has also been affected - I have relatives there, too!

As for the motive, here is the text of the message left with the bombs. Sounds like the bomber is someone who wants to tell the world that you don't have to die..

quote:
Attention people.

You do things because you can and want (desire) to

If the government controls what you want to do, they control what you can do.

If you are under the impression that death exists, and you fear it, you do anything to avoid it. (This is the same way pain operates. Naturally we strive to avoid negative emotion/pain.)

You allow yourself to fear death!

World authorities allowed, and still allow you to fear death!

In avoiding death you are forced to conform, if you fail to conform, you suffer mentally and physically. (Are world powers utilizing the natural survival instinct in a way that allows them to capitalize on the people?)

To "live" (avoid death) in this society you are forced to conform/slave away.

I'm here to help you realize/ understand that you will live no matter what! It is up to you people to open your hearts and minds. There is no such thing as death. The people I've dismissed from this reality are not at all dead.

Conforming to the boundaries, and restrictions imposed by the government only reduces the substance in your lives. When 1% of the nation controls 99% of the nations total wealth, is it a wonder why there are control problems?

The United States strives to provide freedom for their people. Do we really have personal freedom? I've lived here for many years, and I see much limitation. Does the definition of freedom include limitation? I've learned about the history of various civilizations in history, and I see more and more limitation. Do you people enjoy this trend of limitation? If not, change it!

As long as you are uninformed about death you will continue to say "how high", when the government tells you to "jump". As long as the government is uninformed about death they will continue tell you to "jump" Is the government uninformed about death, or are they pretending?

You have been missing how things are, for very long. I'm obtaining your attention in the only way I can. More info is on its way. More "attention getters' are on the way. If I could, I would change only one person, unfortunately the resources are not accessible. It seems killing a single famous person would get the same media attention as killing numerous un-famous humans. There is less risk of being detained, associated with dismissing certain people.

Sincerely,

Someone Who Cares

PS. More info. will be delivered to various locations around the country.

OMG

This is soooooooo weird -- in a good way, I suppose.

Do you have AOL for Internet service? That is what I have.

I cannot believe this -- I am originally from Holy Cross, and I find someone else who has family there!

If you do not have AOL, I can download some instant messenger and we can chat that way.

Tell that to the people that get hurt. As a matter of fact, let one of your family members get hurt and tell me its just a prank. I'm not saying they should call out the army and hunt them down and kill them. But it is serious, and when they are caught, they should not be coddled regardless of their age. Again there are little kids that open mailboxes AH. This is not a harmless prank.

I got back home tonight, after spending a fun day with family, helping one of my nieces celebrate her first communion in Holy Cross.

On my way home, my driver side, back tire blew.

I was between Dubuque and Holy Cross, but luckily, I was near someone's home and I quickly received help from two men who helped me change my tire.

The funny thing is, as they were helping me, five people gathered and turned this into some kind of tire-changing party or something.

Then one of the guys went over to a mailbox as the group was joking about the pipe bomb incidents, and this guy opened theirs with a long stick.

I started talking about this with them, and they said there were three pipe bomb incidents near the area of Dubuque itself. I was like --- damn, this is REALLY hitting close to home within the Midwest.

Oh, one of the guys took a piece off my tire that had screw holes in it, and made a dirty joke saying, "There, you got yourself a pair of holes now." Not only was he my type, but he did not know who he was talking to.

Hell no --- I'm a moderate-liberal, thank you very much.

Tired of ads?

While teenagers have been blowing up mailboxes for decades, (i remember doing it a few time myself) we didn't set them up to blow up when someone opened them. BIG DIFFERENCE. Ours was a prank that just harmed the mailbox. This is much more serious.
