Agnostics. Atheists Without Balls ? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I was looking at Red Jons bisexual thread, and thinking that bisexuals were just sex hogs.

Which somehow got me to thinking about Agnostics vs. Atheists.
Seems to me that, like bisexuals, they just want all their bases covered.
Is this essentially correct ?

No, I disagree.

I don't buy into organized religion, but cannot discard the possibility, however small, that there is some "higher power." I highly doubt there is, but there are still an awful lot of unknowns in the universe.

There is a wide range of opinion, I'm sure.

No. I don't care about covering any bases, I see no reason to do that. I am agnostic because while I do not worship a God or think any religion has stumbled across the real nature of God, I refuse to discount God's existence. To do so would be immensely arrogant on the part of any person.

Fredreich Engels called agnoistism "shame-faced materialism." They just don't have the cajones to admit what they know to be true.

Bisexuality isn't even close to being the same thing.

Bisexuals are, not by choice, bisexuals.

Agnostics are, by choice, people who don't know or don't care about the possibility of a God. If there is a God, he damn well let me live my life how I please. If there isn't a God, no harm done.

I don't see a point to arguing either way. It's trivial.

Clarify for the ignorant one here. Agnostics don't necessairly believe in God but don't dicount the possibility that there could.....maybe....someday be one. And of course Atheists just don't believe that there is any God anywhere right?

From Webster's- Agnostic: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and prob. unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god

And how does that contradict anything the agnostics here have said? Or show that agnostics are somehow lacking in balls?

you can always add "< x >" (without the quotes, without the spaces) between any two letters of the phrase to dodge the censor, Boris.

Watch and learn...

wan < x > ker (without spaces) = wanker

Caligastia, if Ming or another mod sees you bypassing the censor, you will get it. I've seen it happen before.

Slow: Such an assertion is bullshit, because it relies on an either/or proposition. Nothing in the real world is black/white, either/or. There's nothing wrong or non-commital about picking None of the Above. I am firmly, commitedly agnostic, for the reasons I stated above. Explain to me how I'm a fence-sitter.

I simply can not fathom how you come to that conclusion.

Athiests do not believe in a god, Christians do, and agnostics don't care - I don't see how there is even room for 'fence sitting' in this picture.

Slow:

I don't know the true nature of God, nor does anyone, and I don't think humans can ever know the true nature of God. That's not fence-sitting, as fence-sitting would be vascilating between thinking he does and doesn't exist.

nah!

Atheists say: there is no God. (a-theos = No God)

Agnostics say: I don't know whether there is or not. Also it is impossible to know (a-gnossis - no knowledge)

That just means that he's leaving room open for the possibility in the future to change his mind if he so desires. Correct?

Is that really fence sitting? I would think that's leaving one self open to have one's mind changed if enough evidence comes along to satisfy one. Not having a totally closed mind on the subject if you will.
