Sorry BerXpert:

For a while I was keeping close tabs on the postings in the tournament discussion thread. But I forgot to check over the past few days. I'm still interested in playing; guess we'll have to make it another time.

Let me know when your available to play next.

Game? Support Apolyton

Well? H, when would you like to play our tournament game? I would like to get it over with before the end of the month if possible as October is going to be a bit busy for me.

Tourney Full PM-box? Change here!

Ok, I'm back and ready for action. I am hoping to get my game in with Dr. Doom before X-mas.

Is the prize money still there (just incase I win)?

I think it was Gavrushka that was putting up the prise money. Hmmm... Anyway, things are going well. I haven't played CTP for several months so it is going to take a bit to dust off the old game. Are any of the CTP players keen on the upcoming release of MoO3?

Suffering from ads?

I didn't disappear from the thread, Keygen. The fact that I don't post doesn't mean I'm not present, you know .

However, I did officially see the tournament as dead. We were planning to play all the outstanding number of games, while apparently it's a very small portion of them that has actually been played. And no posts over here for like 6 weeks... oh.

Just to assist in clarifying a little...
Gavrushka orignally said he would put up the prize money to be donated to the charity of the winner's choice. When the tournament went south, and most players dropped out, he withdrew that prize (I'm pretty sure). In any case, Solver, I think you ought to declare Yoda as the winner of this tournament without-a-prize. He soundly defeated everyone he played and outlasted the rest. Congrats Yoda!

Sorry Solver but having not seen you posting here for a long time even when some (few) posts were flying here led me to presume that you had disappeared from this thread

I agree with Quinns. Yoda is undoubtedly the winner here.

Yoda, I haven't read the details regarding the MOO3 but it sounds quite interesting and I will probably play some multiplayer games there. Since you are available now I might be able to play you a CtP game online in 1-2 weeks from now. Would you be interested?

Yes, I would be interested in getting a game or two in. The next two weekends are out for me, but anytime after that would be good.

How about 14-15 December then?

I would prefer to play at morning but that would force you play late at night. Perhaps I can find some time in the early afternoon and early morning for you.

Congrats Yoda, but no official announcement will follow... officially the tourney has been considered dead, since, I think, early September.

But Solver..since you are this forums Man-of-da=hour..couldnt you.."OFFICIALLY" announce it?

I mean..after all we have had..fun, controversy, fallouts, bannings and banishments, accusations and the like kind of sorted affairs usually associated with a Political Run for office..
Maybe..you could "Bend" the rulz and make a small slightly Tacky announcement??

Perhaps??

Everyone considers the tournament long dead, I feel it would be weird somewhat to make an official announcement or ask Markos for one...

Besides, the tourney was not completed. It ended, if you see the differece, with Yoda being the best .

So cograts again Yoda .

Yoda and other internet friends, I suggest you join the PBEM Challenges! There are a lot of you excellent CTP players who only play internet CTP, and I understand your boredom with how SLOOWWWWW PBEM games are. However, we started the CTP PBEM Challenge Ladder at the same time as this tournament back in April of 2002. Since then we have started 21 challenge matches and finished 9 of them -- all by PBEM only. Because people can play their turns at their convenience, the play is more conducive to global play where people have a variety of schedules, time zones, and jobs. Hope to see you there! http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=59424

Agree with Quinns. Several times, I have played 3-4 or even 5 turns in one day in the same game.

Thanks everyone for the congrats!

Just a parting thought... By September, I had defeated all who were playing except for one person. Nobody wanted to continue playing their games because there was no second or third place prize. In other words, there was no point anymore.

So, what you are basically saying is that this tournament and the prize money was really just a hoax. All the effort, fun, time, etc... really amounted to nothing.

If the prize money was put up originally for the winner of this tournament, and if all agree that I have won, well?

Hope everyone is having a great holiday.

Yoda, sad times at Apolyton High

Yes indeed, it was a hoax, for as well intended as it may have seemed, still unto this date no final preperation for the RED CARPET to be rolled out for the Winner, no CONFETTI no TROPHY and alas and sadly certainly to the Winner which most assuredly seems to be you Yoda, would be NO GREENBACKS! umm that be good old American Slang for Money!!

So here we sit at the Great Divide where at the end of this Epic Journey to the Top Of Apolyton Peak to put Yoda's Flag Pole, we find a Treasure Chest and as the World looks on in awe and admiration, Yoda attempts a Humble Spirit as congratulatory Praises and Plaudets arise from the Valley Below, falling on deaf ears of Yoda as he silently bows, a single tear streaming halfway down his cheek, seizing the moment and his dream is suddenly smashed with the empty chest, save a small note attached to a rock..simply stated..Sad to say, no real intention to ever pay, like the games and competitors, whom came and went, so did Gavrushka, with promises of monies that will never be sent!

I salute you Yoda and in The Land of Trolldom I will herby decree a National Day of Mourning and then followed by a week of Celebration honoring Yoda, the Greatest General whom ever lived!

Hi Yoda! I wish you would play in the PBEM Challenge Ladder. It is pretty successful and it is about the only thing we all have time enough to play. Hope to see you there. Paulno1 (a.k.a. Paul) is playing there now. It would be good to see you there. NO MONEY, but just for fun.
