Okay Yoda. No problem, we can start anew. Sunday morning would be better for me, if you're free then. |
I didn't see you respond to this Yoda, so I guess you are a no-show for this weekend. No problem. We'll do it another time.

Yes, I can't make it tomorrow morning. Perhaps next weekend would be better.

Okay. If I have time then, that would be great. Thanks. I'll let you know later in the week.

Re: CTP Tournament:
You called it right from the start Paul. This tournament wuz going to go nowhere.
And you know why? Cuz most of the people who entered the tournament are a bunch of neutered puppies...there is no other possible explanation.
First there wuz Gavrushka: if you devoted as much time to actually playing CTP tourney as you did mouthing off in the tricks and exploits column, you would have easily been able to play. Then Filix....I saw the game....Yoda had him whupped, and then he 'adjourned' the game. After 3 times arranging follow-up times...he never showed, then vanished. Swissy...you said you needed a new graphics card...that wuz a month ago...nothing but silence since then. Quinns....a whimpering exit. Patryn, Catete, BerXpert, Nukeboy, Darth Viper...not a SINGLE posting since the first draw was formed....pathetic.

To my CTP friends (especially Troll):
I did not enter this CTP tournament expecting to win. I am well aware that Paul is a better CTP player than I am, as is yoda. And as might be expected, Paul won our match.
We both had about 70 cities, and arrived at jets at almost exactly the same turn. (Beware, you sniping *****es.) However by the end of the game Paul had a significant production advantage, due to his superior infrastructure and civ management techniques.
For example, Paul's establishment of additional cities above the theocracy government limit, while handling the myriad of riots, is something that only someone who has tested the CTP program carefully would risk. I have never taken CTP to the level of play-testing this sort of thing.
However that fact that I lost to a better player doesn't change the truth of the comments I made earlier about the mysterious rash of disappearing contestants.
Unlike some people, I keep my commitments. And I would rather play CTP and lose to a better player anyday, than beat up on some hack.
And by the way: Paul played the game cleanly, absolutely by the tournament rules.
So, hats off to the better player Paul. Nevertheless, if anyone thinks this guy is unbeatable, you'll be happy to know that his military tactics are still at the level of the Keystone Cops.
