	Shouldnt "non hetero"(homo,bi,monol) sex be taught in sex-ed classes? Full PM-box? Change here!

Warning: Discussion of sex inside...for mature minds only(I know this board can handle it....but on ANOTHER well known board, where I have been for 5 years, and am likley the oldest member still on I just PERMANENTALY BANNED because I said something some mod who came to the boards 5 months ago didnt like.....)


Let me preface this by saying I am heterosexual but I have an open mind, and do NOT have any problem with people who are homosexual(even though im religious..dont ask ) .

Sexual education classes in public schools are publically funded, because they are a public school.

As such we shouldnt descriminate based on sexual preference- as thats illegal.

So when heterosexual sex is taught in classrooms, should not homosexual, bi sexual, monosexual(whats sex with yourself called lol?) also be taught?

Thoughts?


Edit: Took out beastiality since its illegal.......so should sex ed classes teach how to properly do homosexuality, bisexuality and selfsexuality(whats the term for self love lol?) ontop of heterosexuality?

Many sex ed classes go beyond telling students "go use a condom" and discuss technique....

Some of the things you listed are illegal. So, I doubt that they'll be taught in the public school system.

I think he meant he was the oldest member on the other board - the one he got banned at. Also, perhaps we'd better look over discussing bestiality, because I feel that'd probably rather take the discussion down the wrong path.

I'm fairly sure that one can be inclusive of same-sex sex without even making the distinction; surely the "safe sex" message can be put across without even specifying. I mean, you don't have to specify "gay sex" to say "use a condom". Obviously, some of the "preventing pregnancy" stuff may not be relevent, but I doubt any gays or lesbians will be particularly offended by having to sit through it.

What undoubtedly shouldn't happen in "sex ed" is blatant preaching to the class, be it on abstinence, homophobic, or whatever.

Surely it depends on the purpose of sex education in schools- health and biology being the main two reasons I can think of. Anything that does not impact on those two should not be taught as a core part of the syllabus.

Because the current sodomy laws against homosexuality and bisexuality in many states is similiar to what Jim Crow laws were against blacks, such sodomy laws are not legitimate.

The claim that these sodomy laws also apply to heterosexuals, is merely a hypocritical farce, in my opinion.



Once we realize the illegitimacy of sodomy laws directed against homosexuals and bisexuals, I would hope that we can integrate sexual orientation in sexual education courses.

It only makes sense that way. By discussing the different theories on how people believe sexual orientation might develop while reminding students that no one theory has been proven yet, we can have a much more informed populace on sexuality that INCLUDES sexual orientation.

This would go a LONG way to undoing the bigotry that is inherent with homophobia.

Fun those laws mean nothing. They are dormant. I understand your fuss and all. But you cant be arrested anywhere in America for having sex with another man.


Oh and of course Heterosexuality is the majority. So naturally it should be taught in depth (it is) since most of us are heterosexual.

However, somebody has to explain in general, what homosexuality is. Nothing crude, like the best way to have anal sex. But it has to be addressed since it is an undeniable part of society.

Since they didnt teach us where the G-spot was, its only fair.

None of it should be taught in public schools. They are not supposed to be indoctrination centers. People know how to have sex. The whole subject should be a non-issue. And sodomy is not natural regardless of sexual orientation. Isn't that obvious? Why does one orafice have the appropriate parts and lubrication to enable procreation and the other does not? And why does one contain feces? People don't need to be taught this stuff. Do what you want in the privacy of your home but keep your PC agendas out of the public schools. I don't want my kids to be taught how to sodomize each other. Teach each other that in your gay bars...

Whilst I agree the intricasies are not a central factor, I think the teaching of safe sex and the causes of STDs should be covered. As should the physical harm caused by sodomy. This need not be taught in relation to sexual preferance, as it is important to all people. Straight couples and homosexual couples alike.
