Maybe I'm just lazy......but I've never noticed if color is a issue in the the order of play.....guess it is

Lol, you never knew that? Red moves first, then white->purple
There is no way of changing the order.

I thought everyone know this already, you play white you beaker cost is higher then anyone elses to get a tech. Go to the civ2 strat section and read up on key civs.

Already know the key civ stuff, it all depends on what techs the other civs have and your power ratings. White doesn't have any disadvantage.

white always moves first, so its initial techs will have a penalty. If white discouvers alpha first its cheaper for all other civs etc. Go read the posts about never play romans or sioux.
