Well, well, I think I just may attempt to wade into this nice thread!

What is meant by heaven, what is meant by hell.

Heaven, to be in total communion with the one who created you.

Hell, to be in total abscence of the one who created you.

An atheist, one who willingly does not believe in God, has made a choice not to be in communion with God, in their life they will be given many opportunites to change their mind, their actions are not what is required to commune with God, belief is. It is quiet possible that their actions will lead them to a belief in God, but the actions are not the end result.

Will some one who professess a belief in God, yet does not show the actions of this belief go to heaven? Maybe, maybe not. God will judge that not I, same as the atheist, God will judge.

I believe I read somewhere in the Bible that those who have not heard of Jesus, or the "Word" will be judged according to their own hearts. How God will reach His desicison is beyond me.

And Asher, yes people do still believe in God in this day and age, are we really the worse for it?
