Have you seen the commercial, Shi?
If this sets a precedent we should outlaw any commercials involving:
Any kind of negative comment -- this teaches people to inflict emotional abuse upon others, which is extremely important, just like physical abuse
Any kind of racing -- this teaches people to race cars, which can lead to death since it's "dangerous"
Any kind of reference to alcohol in general -- this can cause alcoholics
The commercial was a small, tiny slap. It wouldn't even leave a mark.
If the commerical involved actually smacking the man to the point of being considered actual abuse (this wouldn't even fly in a courtroom, as much as blackice would like to admit), then it'd have grounds. It simply doesn't.
The reaction of everyone in this thread is sickening, you're all reacting in the basis of "ohhh, that sounds bad, women allowed to hit men and men not allowed to hit women!". It was a tiny little slap, see the commercial before making asses out of yourself.

There are limits to freedom of speech. An ad showing a car zooming down a highway is generally considered acceptable. But there would be objections to an ad showing a car racing down a street in a residential area.
More importantly, no one forced Labatt to drop the ad. People like Blackice simply exercised their freedom of speech and told Labatts what they thought of the ad. Labatts exercised its freedom and pulled the ad.
