If you considered TV-series why didn't Worf get listed?

Did you not watch DS9?

Yes, but Worf only commanded USS Defiant for three months during Capt. Sisko's absence to mourn Jadzia Dax´s death. Which is strange really, if anyone should´ve taken leave of absence to mourn it should´ve been Worf. They were married after all...

What a load of malarky! Did the writers actually expect me to believe that a muscle -head like Chrichton would actually get into NASA even if Dad was a General? They'd bust Dad back to cadet before they'd let someone that thick into their precious Air Force academy.

Naturally, IMHO, Colonel O'Neill could take them all on at once and still have enough time for a cheeky quip or two.

Let's think:

Kirk - Doesn't pussyfoot about
- Played by William Shatner

Picard - Has exceptional gravitas
- French

Sisko - Knows when to have a laugh
- Bit of a wuss

Janeway - Quite big tits
- Voice sounds like Willem Dafoe's

Archer - Ponce

Don't ask me why I'm even doing this, because I don't think I can live it down (I don't even like Star Trek), but what the hell.

Well, for some reason, the capital of Earth, and the entire Federation, is based in France. (that's also where the Federation President resides).

Starfleet is based in San Francisco though.

Speices 8472 is indeed in ST. In 2373 the Borg somehow discovered fluidic space and learned that Species 8472 possesses organic spacecraft and a biogenically engineered weapons technology (did anyone say 'Vorlons' ? ) that was superior to anything known to the Borg. Seeking to assimilate this civilization and its technology, the Borg launched an attack on the fluidic space realm, only to get their asses severly kicked...

Species 8472 is AFAIK the only race that the Borg couldn´t assimilate.

Got spare money?

Has anyone ever noticed a correlation between presidents and captains of the enterprise?

Archers speechgiving and attitude reminds me of Bush. Enterprise also seems like a more conservative turn in the trek shows.
Kirk reminds me of JFK for some reason.
and Sisko & Janeway (first black and woman captns) both came around during Clinton's tenure.
Picard... hmm maybe he's the exception

Anyway Picard is the bomb. He has everything a good captain should have. He knows everything, he has character, hes got bollocks.

Make It So.
The TNG Theme's techno version is just hilarious.

Kirk could never kick the Borg's collective ass, he'd be busy drooling over the Queen or 7 of 9 or Janeway ( ). Picard all the way. Sheridan beat up the Shadows real good too, but needed quite a lot of help for that one.

Edit: was Sheridan ever a Captain, if we exclude the Earth - Minbari war and the time before B5? I think he was a Commodore.

2 questions:

1) what else is known about species 8472?

2) what else is known about Borg creation? I remember reading about them being created several million years ago by this one creature, but it's all blury in my memory now

I don't really like Star Trek, the original one is TOO old for me to get interested, and the newer ones (not Enterprise, haven't seen it) are too family orientated, its Days of Our Lives in Space, really.

But they have been showing The Next Generation re-runs and I always sit thru it till David Letterman is on, and I found that Picard is a very good actor, he made it seem like I was watching a movie everytime. Picard is for me, the best, and this is quite ironic because my Father loves Star Trek, and we were actually discussing about this very topic just yesterday and he also agree's that Picard is best. (Btw he hates it when ppl call the original star trek "Old Star Trek" LOL).

Picard

Btw, what's Enterprise like?

Holy phasers Pythagoras, I think you're right.

Kirk and JFK both have a youthful energy about them, looking for new things to explore.

Archer and Little Bush both have that down home, Texas barbeque, cattle herding attitude.

Sisko and Janeway did come around when Clinton was telling us to "don't stop thinking about trommorow".

And Picard reminds me of Big Bush. They both have a simple resoluteness about them. If you think about some of Bush's statements on Iraq during the Gulf War, I could easily see Picard saying the same lines.
