A few seconds. But it's severly annoying. Especially when my wife comes in and sees an add for "horny goat weed" and thinks I'm surfing on porn sites.

Also, I use IE as my browser. Sometimes if too many windows open, IE crashes or worse: The entire OS collapses.

I have yet to experience this IE bug you mention Tassadar. How many windows does it take. (I have had 310 apolyton threads open at once!)

It only takes a few IE windows to crash my computer.....But netscape is too slow for my tastes, so I stick with IE.

I'll just say that it takes me 2 seconds to close one, out of the one browser I have open and active.

In the mean time, Mark and Dan earn a 10th of a cent and help pay for this free site that knocks the nutz off of any other civ site.

In all seriousness, you do have a point. Without ads, Apolyton wouldn't be free. I remember how frustrated I was when Gamespot and IGN suddenly began locking all their content....But that's a completly different topic.

Tass. They get income from the pop up. You don't have to click on anything other than close.

It's different from banners.
