Thanks, Hydey. That's what I thought. Artificial light in a large garden would be a bit too unecological, don't you think?

Hydey - I'm popping out to buy a new, big tub for the lemon in the next couple of days. What d'you reckon's the minimum size I need? The consensus amongst the other (so-called) experts is 45cm minimum. The one I've got is a bit bigger than that. It always bothered me that it wasn't big enough. What d'you reckon?

Just to save Hydey wearing his fingers to the bone typing his reply asking the question - you're going to need to give him some more information, Ect. Like how many windows, how much light, and so on.

oh, sorry... well, only one side of this room has windows, it's to the west.

there's one balcony door and one large window, a total window area of around 4-5 square meters, there is a balcony though so a lot of the light gets covered by the balcony above

I live in Central Europe, just so you have an idea how high the sun rises, temperature, etc.

But then I have to add I hardly let any light into this room because it means heating up in summer. That is also why I had my cactus on my balcony... so it'd be a balcony plant on summer days if it requires a lot of light.... as for indoor plants, their light demand shouldn't be too excessive.

That's good info, Ect, Hydey should be able to work with that. Some indoor plants require more light than others.

Try half a wine barrel for size.
