hi i like this demo game idea. so i am make some work of it. what about political party within the faction. this way we can use the ideology of other faction (if we want). and it make the voting for president/vice-president/all the ministers much more fun.

some idea
*party for happy drones
*party for warmongers
*party for protection of planet (gaian)

what ever. if there people not happy with the way thing are going they can start a party and let people run for office, or you can run by your self ofcours

Hmmm... in due time, maybe. I mean, we have a larger array of social selections, so it could be quite possible to have some people support Green ideals, some Free Market.

i think that overall civ3 is better. bit with the social choises of smac a demo game here wil make internal politics much more fun

right now i do not know how much people there are that want to do this. but i want to start a party. i do not need to be president of some sort but we already have one party and i am not ready to join it........so does anyone as a idea?

Knowledge above all. Though early game the party council is willing to make compromises for the sake of Progress and Prosperity and go Wealth. We are absolutely against Power.

If I heard correct on this forum Aristotle's Eudaimonia is in favour of every citizen on the place it deserves by skill and motivation. This goes well with P4's idea of provideing equal chances, so your position isn't influences by birth, parent's wealth, etcetera...

I think we need at least a minimun number of four or five members before a party can be recognized, or else we'll run the risk twenty or thirty one member parties creating chaos. Also, perhaps party wouldn't be the best word for the term in relations to smac, perhaps sub-faction? Just my two energy counters.

it all so early on this al happend in 2 days or so ....we will have to wait awhile in in that time we can brainstorm about some issues.....but people i am going nightnight. i need sleep i will post tommorow al day. (for every one not on GTM +1 it 2 o`clock here and I had to work )

maybe i dont understand this whole political parties thing and how it relates to SE. are we going to vote a party in based on what SE choices they will make? if not, then how are we going to change SE (and whats the point of parties?).

maybe every few turns (20 maybe?) or upon discovering a new SE choice, the SE minister (or whatever its called. dicussed in the ministers thread) holds a pole to see if we should change SE or energy rates. or in case of war we hold a poll to see what changes need to be made?

This is the way I see it.

Parties are a way for voters to come together who have similar ideas. A party can discuss among themselves what their policy will be, and if they come to agreement, they are stronger as a bloc than each member would have been individually.

It's possible to build a party around a SE (Fundamentalism, or Democracy, or Knowledge) or around a research priority (Build/Conquer) or a specific goal (war/peace). Most parties need some ideological common ground to hold them together, though.

With this in mind, I am now offering an invitation to anyone interested to join the Exploration and Discovery Party. Read the manifesto and decide if that's the party for you. Or, start your own! The possibilities are endless.
