Turn 21 ==> Demosthenes
As to comments by the sheep bedder and lacivious lover of lhamas. They have obviously never been to Egypt, if they had, the only act which might be considered unnatural would be the Pharaoh and other Egyptian Lords harem size. If it is natural to love Lhamas even to bed, then Egypt is unnatural.
In more important news the opening ceremonies of Labyrinth will commence in one turns time.
The Pharaoh advises all nations to expect a visit from the Egyptian Trading Guild, who have setup their headquarters in Memphis.

Turn 21 ==> Jon
Sorry guys, I've got a bit of a problem here. Family crisis, personal, don't want to go into any details, but I'll be away for at least two, maybe three days.
Really, sorry, but there's nothing I can do. Hope to be back by the weekend.

Turn 21 to Incitatus.
I do hope that the Pro-Consul can persuade his 'mount' that War is a costly and wasteful enterprise.
As to the 'Incestuous Egyptians' I would remind you that the Inca pursue natural recreation neither molesting beasts of the field or close family members. Our high rate of reproduction is entirely down to the fertility of our womenfolk and the bounty of our land. Should other peoples look to what nature intended then I am certain that they would find the same!
High Priest Jon,

Turn 23 to 'The Twisted Stable Lad'.
For Rome to complain of the 'trespass' of a single Inca recon unit which was known of and heading home only to find itself pinned between two Roman Knights, in neutral territory, and use it as an excuse to launch an utterlly unprovoked attack is outrageous.
This is the action of a man without honour. To violate a Peace Treaty not two Turns old and then claim it not to be an act of war is outrageous.
I caution you all, do not trust this man! This is the second time that the Inca have been subjected to an act of unprovoked aggression from Rome. Caligula stands bare before you all as a liar whose signature on a Peace Treaty is not worth the Ink expended.
High Priest Jon,
Guardian of Morality to the Inca Nation.

Sophix, Lord Ra of the Nile, Lord Demosthenes thanks you for your recent purchases of fine Welsh goods, but asks, please select another destination, for one of your cities, Alexandria I believe, has too much finery for it to handle.
As a way of enforcing peace in the world, can the Lord of the Nile find it in his ability to place a trade embargo upon the warring nations? Forbid trade with either until a settlement is resolved perhaps?
It is not that I wish such a thing upon any soveriegn nation, but this unchecked aggression must be curbed as soon as possible before it spreads to engulf us all.

Hmmm, talking of 'twisted' that's precisely what you're trying to do with this whole situation...
From the beginning and without provocation, you have cruelly taunted the Roman peoples, you have accused the Emperor of Rome of Bestiality, and you have threatened violence on the peaceful Roman peoples...
When I demarcated a border (territorially to your advantage!!!), you disrespectfully chose to ignore it despite my warnings of what would happen to any INVADING units...
When the first unit was destroyed we signed a peace treaty on the proviso that diplomats could visit, I exchanged maps under goodwill only to find that I had been terribly manipulated - a legion at full war readiness a mere three leagues from Augustodunum! Well within my demarcated borders!! The sheer bare faced arrogance is astounding!!!
I drew a line in the sand and you threw that very sand in my face! The territory was not neutral, I gave you repeated warnings, the 'recon' unit (sight 1, move 1, offensive potential! - Diplomat S 2, M2, NO offensive potential! Embassy powers! Which is the better recon unit??? Diplomats even cost LESS!!!) was actually moving TOWARDS a new city site... As for utterly unprovoked - does the leader of the incas actually reside on this planet!!!??
You were repeatedly warned what would happen - it did, what precisely is your problem!!? As for the peace treaty, INVASION is an ACT OF WAR!!!
Know this - on the ninth league SW of Pucara along the narrowest part of the isthmus separating us is the 'neutral zone', cross it with anything other than a Diplomat, those units WILL be destroyed!!! I have sent a new peace treaty (subject to the above terms) for signature... A diplomatic delegation (1 unit) is allowed to freely move unrestricted around my empire (he will be escorted at all times!), as long as this is reciprocated...
To the Civilised nations of this World, I exercised my inalienable right as soveriegn of this territory to defend CLEARLY marked borders - would anyone care to refute this claim, as I would be interested in hearing a logical argument against my being allowed to defend my territory...?
As for sanctions, I am dismayed that one so wise should arbitrarily wish to punish someone guilty only of defending their homeland... If so, I hope you fully intend to compensate the great Pharoah Sophanthro the estimated 50 Gold he will lose from lost trade!!? Why not admonish the real transgressor here?? I also welcome a delegation of UC (United Civilisation) Observers to patrol our borders...
King Rick - Emperor Caligula has honoured the Assyrian Birthday felicitations by building a magnificent Dovecote in the central Piazza of Rome itself!!! Pompeii prepares for the launching of a Longship next turn to enable my diplomat to visit...
Great Pharoah - behold a diplomat has arrived at the gates of Giza, may this usher in a new dawn of peace and understanding between our two peoples!!!

Turn 24 ==> Lord Demosthenes of Wales
Indeed the Pharaoh cautions the people of Rome and Inca toward peace, but understands the Roman situation. In such spirit he welcomes the Roman diplomat to Egyptian lands. He also stated that an Egyptian diplomat is headed toward Roman lands, and asks permission to establish an embassy. Another diplomat is trekking thru frozen lands toward Assyria and yet another awaits completion of a boat that will carry him north toward Wales and then West to Inca. If any leader objects to the diplomatic desires of Egypt, please voice the ojection and it will be addressed.
The Egyptian Trade Guild regets to inform the wise Demosthenes that no other cities at this moment expressed desire of trading in Beaver skins, they did note that this is subject to change. The trade guild also request that all nations follow in the wise Demosthenes's example and place any goods they wish on the open market, and the guild will consider the offer.

In tune with the unstable nature of out time, the Welsh would like to respectively request authorisation to establish embassies with all other nations. Diplomats are presently heading towards the Egyptian, Incan, and Roman Empires. We request that we are treated as the neutral nation that we are.
Whilst embarking upon their diplomatic duties, the ambassadors heading to the present warring factions have volunteered to act in a United Nations peaceful observer capacity, to ensure that peace is kept. This is of course dependent upon the approval of the two warring factions.
Demosthenes awaits your reply.

Turn 24 to The Treaty Breaker.
All Emissaries are welcome at The Temple in Cuzco as long as they obey Inca etiquette and provide 50 of their most beautiful virgins for the High Priest.
If given advance notice of the time and place of arrival a Roman Ambassador might be tolerated depending upon their ability to restrain themselves from further treachery.
As stated before, any Clerics or Slavers detected within reach of Inca territory will killed rather than expelled. In answer to the obvious question Caligula, yes we are equipped with Units possessed of the ability to detect these vile creatures!
I trust that Rome does not wish to engage in a series of *** for tat Conversions and Soothsays? Very wasteful to the Exchequer.

All Diplomatic missions to Rome are cordially invited and indeed positively encouraged - Emperor Caligula has decreed special day passes to be handed out for guided tours of the Vestal Virgins quarters and baths (on a look, don't touch basis...). Afterwards, lavish feasts are to be prepared in honour of our esteemed guests - these are to involve the consumption of the finest food and wines available followed by the greatest and most exotic entertainment available from all four corners of the Roman Empire! Nighttime entertainment will also be lavishly provided by the Imperial Harem itself, with instructions that the Diplomat's every whim is to be catered for...
Lucullus & Epicurus
By Appointment to the Imperator
In the spirit of equanimity, this olive branch also applies to the diplomat of the Incas - may we both put our past differences behind us!
High Priest Jon, once the building of Chichen Itza is completed, a Diplomat will be despatched from Antium for Pucara...
Noble King Rick, The RS Pax Assyrianicus has just been launched from Pompeii and will be sailing to Uruk with a Diplomat...
Great Pharoah Sophanthro, The World's first Embassy has been established - let this foster even stronger ties between us! My Diplomat has seconded himself to the RPS (Roman Papyrus Survey) and is doing an ordinance of the uncharted lands to the south - these will be made Global knowledge in due course!
O Wise Demosthenes, you are not forgotten - the RS Pax Assyrianicus will be turning north after visiting Uruk and charting a course across the Great Central Ocean for Wales! Also The Imperator welcomes your kind offer of UN Diplomats to patrol our troubled borders...

turn 24--> Sophanthro
As the world begins to come together in a flurry of diplomatic activity, Assyria is busy herself making preparations.
In anticipation of the Great Emperor Caligula's Diplomatic Mission, the Royal Caterers have assembled an army of netted Hummingbird procurers to provide for the promised Welcoming Feast. Local bees toil 24 hours a day to make the honey for the glaze, happy to do their part. And the finest Wild Boar from deep within the Assyrian woodlands have been brought before the King, who has now chosen the finest to be prepared.Uruk awaits thee!
Unable to contain their excitement at the news of the legendary Pharoah's Diplomat's journey toward our lands, a valiant Warrior has undertaken to head toward the mission, in hopes of shortening the time to a first meeting. Although barefoot and under-provisioned, the warrior travels quickly across the glaciers. Behind him, handmaidens assemble a highway of orchid petals upon which the Egyptian Ambassador may continue his travels if he should so wish.
A question to the Legendary High Priet Jon: Dost thou have yet a map of our Assyrian lands? If not, we ask any of our other friends in the world to provide to him these maps until we are able to meet the Mighty Incans. For Good Jon, it appears that our border is closer than anticipated...a short distance north of Pachacamac lies a watery channel, beyond which lie our lands. And Pachacamac appears an apt name, indeed, based upon the plethora of pulchritudinous pachyderms you possess.
And to the fabled Demosthenes, far to the north on your rich island of rivers, beavers and forest: We have not yet the sea-going craft to make the journey to meet thee, but hope to commision such an expedition in the near future that we might become good friends and allys.
Be aware that our traders are offering a bounty of our local products on a first-come-first-serve basis.
And let it be known that the Assyrians will welcome all travelers who come to our shores in peace!
His Eminently Hospitable King Rick
