	New PBEM game (good players for gigantic game) Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I want to start a new pbem game with 4+ players, gigantic maybe huge map deity level. Other settings to be decided by the group. I would apreciate that we play by a 24h rule (or less if wanted) to get the game to move reasonably fast along...

I will join, but only if you use Semi_acc - scenario, or create a new scenario [players have min 5 cities on start and some PW ], otherwise the game will be very slow and boring...

Nordicius trade goods pack 1.4 welcome too, but not necessarily ... No other mods....

I'll play Pin, and I agree that we need some sort of fast start, especially on a gigantic map, otherwise it'll take forever.
I agree with the 24 hour (or less) rule, but prefer no mods.

Good then we are 4 players so far, i agree to the semi_acc parts. Lets start with 5 settlers but doo we really need pw at the start? How do i change the settler count without making any other changes to the gameplay?

no problem ! PW, gold, advances, five super fast settlers and two extra units; it is all features semi_acc scenario, but if you will play the scenario, all must remember, that in first five turns bulit CW and garnaries are free!

you got 24h from the player ahead of you put in this forum that he have sent the turn, until the next player gets it....
if not the player ahead of you will just open your turn and press end. (I hope we will move along even faster then 24h pr turn in the begining..)

Pin I now send the scenario to your email addres. Please unpack the file into your ctp scenarios folder. first you should acquaint with all this scenario features...

Important note:
To Play this Scenario in a PBEM game follow these instructions:

1.When you recieve your turn place it in a saved game folder

2.Start Ctp and load the quicker scenario

3.Once the scenario is loaded, go to options and load the email game
you placed in your save game file.

This only needs to be done for the first 5 turns, on turn 5 anyone can
simply load the game by double clicking on it. The first player to do
so we see SLIC errors which may cause the game messages to look funny
but this will only occur once and only for the player who first drops
the scenario on that turn.

I have downloaded the file and unpacked it into my scenarios folder. So I think that I'm all ready to go whenever everyone else is.
Thanks for explaining the 24H rule, I don't forsee any problems with that!

I think we should give it another day or two to see if anyone else wants to play. If no one else shows an interest by then, I think that five players is sufficient for a good game!

well we will use the 24h rule, that mean you have 24 hours to play the turn after the player ahead of you mail it to you... (nothing wrong with playing it faster then 24h )

okie dokie then. i'll have to install CTP again into a different directory since the last time i tried that easy mod it didn't work for me...anyhow, i'll have it ready
by tomorrow. now this will be my first time playing a PBEM game since the early 90's so
hopefully all will go well. in what order will the game be played??

the game will be played in following order:

1. Pin - norway + 1gmt
2. Krzysztof - poland +1 gmt
3. Stavros - germany +1 gmt
4. Krash - england 0 gmt
5. Martock - usa - 5 gmt

if we get more players they will go in the turn play were their timezone says they fit..

i am hoping everyone have or will have icq, this way it will be easier to get a fast play early (get the 10-20 first turns fast played)

Are you sure that I need the 1.2 Hack? I have the German version of CTP, and have trouble with 1.2 hack. BTW, the only difference in the German version WRT PBEM, is that the diplomacy messages can sometimes come out a little funny

I find Krzysztof's settings a little radical. Maybe you could explain what sort of a map this would give? Very warm, and Very wet continent. Is this a complete jungle world? The only setting I really don't agree with is the goods set to 10. It removes one of the challenges of gameplay, namely finding your chosen good, and attempting to create a monopoly.

if you use the unify level at 10 it would be an hill and mountains only game!!!!!
with 10 continent and 6 water you get 1 big square continent with water around...

i don't have the 1.2 hack installed? can anyone tell me if i really need that?
