	Who wants to be a SMC duputy? Inflate your Upload Space

now that turnthreads are the norm, I'm looking for a deputy for SMC.

I leave for college on Tuesday at 4 AM (EST) and i won't have access to my own personal computer until thursday or sunday. I could probably use the public computers the school has, but what kind of dork sits on a PUBLIC computer for12 hours while the rest of the school is meeting eachother?

anyway, I need someone to officially step in for me for a few days.

I personally think Sir Ralph would do best, but he is busy and may not want the job. Then theres Donal, who wanted the job to begin with.

Anyone that wants to be SMC for a few days can apply. I have a general set of plans, you'd just be there to oversee the actions as they happen. And if somehow i don't get my computer until Sunday, you'd decided what happens after Paris and Orleans fall.

I could make some generalized orders, but it really depends on what troops survived.

Uber I would be glad to take over for a few days. I know how the first few days/weeks of college can be. So with your approval I wouldn't mind overseeing the continuation and ultimate success of your plan.

Even with all of the Constitutional restrictions, I still wouldn't be able to help out anyway. I leave this Friday for a week, i'm going on vacation and won't have any access, at least to my knowledge.

edit: Aggie, don't forget to poll the War Academy for fter Paris and Orleans fall, to see what others think should be done. Someone might come up with a clever idea.

After the next few turns and the success (or lack thereof ) of the "land redistribution reforms" we will need to seriously look at our military's future.

Some are calling for a change in Government (once we have the techs) - if we go Monarchy we have no problem maintaining the military. If we go Republic then massive disarmament is required lest we incur heavy upkeep costs. We may aim to continue our campaign and finish off America (my preferred option), then maybe turn to Greece or Germany or Persia (and make Uber happy forever more ).

Then again we may want to consolidate our gains and encourage population growth and internal development with Banks, Cathedrals, Universities and other improvements that might allow us to force our way up the rankings.

Or we may wish to focus wholly on Uber Isle (if it is worth it) - colonising and exploring this island that is near enough to the Capital for it to be quite productive, and a potential source of resources. We could also search for the other AI and hope to maintain a monopoly on tech trades.

All these things need to be discussed and SOON. We are reaching another crossroads in our history, and we need to know which one to take when we get there.

Perhaps a little OT, but this is something the Deputy will need to look at also if we win our WoN war quickly.

Right now I have a very easy job, carry out ubers plan. The only way alteration will come is if the french are within 5 or so turns of the great library. Still the plan would remain the same only delayed. If by some unforseen development he isn't back by the time we take paris and orleans the job will get much harder. However I will poll the war academy and see what the general concensus is, and as don said we might get some clever ideas. Like I said I expect Uber will be back by then and my brief stewardship will be over. The only thing that could throw us off pace now would be something unexpected such as a greek or persian attack. I agree that after the french war some very heavy and deep decisions need to be made. Personally I think a war with greece is desirable but not until we have knights.
