Turn 62 ==> Jon
Ok, let's see if we can fathom out this bug. I haven't been hit by it, neither have the Egyptians I believe.
I think that the game is on either Emporer or Deity, and I don't beleive that I have any of CD's mod in my setup.

Turn 62 to Caligula
The game is certainly not on Deity or Emperor with the level of population growth and general happiness that I'm getting.
Riots persist but progress is made. The plebian section of the community will always find cause for complaint!
My apologies to Noble Rick but he must understand Inca caution at the prescence of any armed forces upon their borders. An Assyrian Diplomat is most welcome and can be assured that we will lay on a particularly impressive human sacrifice in his honour.
High Priest Jon.

Turn 62 ---> Sophanthro
The captain of our SOL says "Ahoy there and greetings" to the captain of the Welsh ship off our southern coast. But beware, for shoals and sandbars abound in these regions! We plan to sail to the legendary island of the Welsh after visiting the Incan nation, and hope to be granted permission, noble Demosthenes. We will send our estimated timetable very soon.
---------------------------------------------
Good riddance to the nasty Barbarian, Emperor Caligula. They are all murderous thugs who must be stopped!
---------------------------------------------
We are pleased that our offer of an Embassy has been accepted by High Priest Jon, and will be arriving shortly. Our captain will decide upon a destination after consulting his charts.
--------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, the plague has hit us harder today than ever before. ELEVEN CITIES have fallen under the evil spell, and most disturbing, one had it last turn and hasn't gotten better. All with high happiness ratings, too. Dutcheese is no longer installed, and still this happens. And while production seems to be continuing, food production is not, and combined with the need to increase food to increase happiness, this problem begins to handicap affected players. I'll check for more detailed information of how this is affecting cities after work, but this is worrisome.

Re The Riot Syndrome.
I don't know if this might give someone some ideas but prior to the all the confusion about freebie Graneries and CW's in this and Burchill's game I had always used the DC files in my main Directory rather than the originals as they seemed to have no other impact than allowing the use of various Acc-Start Mods.
I had never experienced this strange and very frustrating Riot problem before but I have now found that it has manifested itself in the Dutcheese game I am in where I found Three Cities affected two of which, due to another weirdo occurance, had Happiness in the high 80's!
Might the problem lie not with DC but actually with the lack of it?

Turn 63 ==> Demosthenes
Ok, my setup is factory(strait of the CD), Patch 1.2, and hack 1.2.1. That's it. I started my first 4 turns by loading thru the scenario.
We are playing at Chieftan level. City size unhappiness starts at size 6+.
Anyways I checked thru the prevalent files (DiffDb, Const.txt) Everything pretaining to riots there is normal. Grr! Doesn't tell us a whole lot does it.
OK, I just had my little brother run thru a couple of turns. Having him check whether or not there was riots. The cities were rioting, in many cases these riots occured with the cities having more happy points then sad points. I had him run thru two turns and riots still happened on the scond turns. What does that mean?
It isn't anyones currrent setup. So at the moment Im stumped.
Im going to try something elso, running the Game turns thru Linux. Why? The Linux version reports certain errors (AI errors etc.) strait to the terminal which Windows doesn't. But Im going to have to wait til someone bit older then my little brother, can check that for me.

I think the bujrchill connection is a valid one. When Jon had problems in that game it did affect Semi Acc, which uses the same mod as this does it not?
Sophix I appreciate your efforts here, I know it's a pain in the arse. If I can help in any way let me know, but be mindful of my very limited technical knowledge.
Also, my mail account has gone haywire, so could you contact me through this address until further notice:

Turn resent to Demos, not sure if he got it or not sounds, like he did but better safe than sorry.
Don't worry about it. If I can figure out the problem, then the satisfaction makes it all worth while Since we have no clue at present what might be causing the riots, there not much anyone can do but bring forward ideas.
The only difference I see between this game and Burchill's, is that we are playing at chieftan.

Turn 63 ==> Jon
The Romans appear to go from strength to strength. The near completion of their scientific research centre can only consolidate their huge lead in world rankings. The Government Organisation of Scientific Hunger (GOSH) is looking in to ways of catching up with the Romans before it is no longer possible to do so.
________
OK, I'm in two quick-start games. Semi Acc had problems, but that was due to CD's mod and is now sorted. This game is causing great confusion. At what stage are you at in Burchill's game, as this and Semi Acc are about the same level of development. In fact, I believe that this game is slightly ahead of Semi Acc, does this mean we should anticipate problems in Semi Acc aswell?
________
I'm moving house on Monday, so I may not be able to play any turns between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
It looks like the glitch was only temporary, good job as the reserve account is unreliable at the best of times. I'm now looking for a new server, to go with the new home, but for the meantime, contact me through my normal account.

Sorry for the problems guys, hopefully this time next week I'll be sorted out for good.

Turn 63 ---> Sophanthro
Good tidings:
The cities in riot number but one this turn. Not a cure, but tolerable. What is unfortunate is that while production proceeded from the last turn, food production did not, and we also were again hit by a big shortfall of gold. This is hurting us, and we hope there is a solution. We do not possess the hack patch, and ask the Egyptian scientists wether they believe there would be any advantage in procurring one. Also, we wish to thank the Pharaoh for his selfless work on a problem which does not even bother his own people.
And Great Pharaoh, our captain reports sighting the legendary city of Meydum dead ahead, and will make land tommorrow!
High Priest Jon, our second ship of peace is bound for one of your cities that is not on our maps, but we know of its existance through sightings of your trade caravans by travelersand tourists. It appears to lie on your eastern coast between Cahauchi and Cupisnique. We will arrive shortly, and our Diplomat sends word that he hopes that the planned human sacrifice will not be comprised of anyone in our party, please!
Then we sail for Wales, where we hope to achieve permission from the Learned Demosthenes to build an Embassy on his northwestern shore.

Turn 64 ---> Sophanthro
A joyous day dawns for the Assyrian people! For today two Diplomats stand at the gates of two great cities about to establish Embassies!
Gazing up at the gleaming skyscrapers of Meydum, we are awed by the building skills of the learned Egyptian architects. We look forward to an audience with our friend, the Great Pharaoh of Egypt.
And at the newly discovered city of Chiripa, we send our greetings to the Incan people, and eagerly anticipate seeing our neighbor, High Priest Jon. It is our hope that this meeting will end in a closer friendship.
To the Learned Demosthenes, we ask permission to sail to the city of Denbigh very soon for the purpose of building an Embassy with our friends in Wales. Too long have we been unable to visit, and we long to see for ourselves your lush lands and cool rivers of your nation.
BTW, we came across one of your Diplomats alone in the frozen tundras of our western provinces. Is he OK? Can we be of any assistance to him? This is dangerous territory, full of murderous Barbarians!
To the mighty Caligula of Rome, we offer early congratulations for what appears to be the imminent completion of the Edison's Lab. May the science that you glean be of benefit to the entire world, and be used for peaceful purposes.
PAX

Turn to Demosthenes
King Rick: We welcome your diplomat, and the Pharaoh himself is traveling down to Meydum to greet him. He has also order that which ever women the Assyrian diplomat desires for his company, will be aside from those belonging to the high priest of Meydum, and Pharaoh.
Emperor Caligula: We are unsure what your settler is doing in our lands as we understand it he is below the lake which is our border and request that he return to his own lands.
The scientist have yet to unravel any thing concerning the riots as they have been caught up, with the possibility of working on a replay for CtpII. But have scheduled a hearing on the subject tommorow.

Turn 65 to Mobius.
Only one City Riot but when that's still very odd when it's only size 7, has Temple, Aquaduct and a full garrison! The only negative is for Starvation, and they're only hungry because of the halt in Food Production, which still leaves a rating of 78.
I am vexed!

John Romero: says stay clean, stay away from Drugs -- after producing a game like Daikataina why would anyone care what he says, besides Daikatana looks like it was designed on crack.
