Re. the turnchat: this was the most amazing turnchat I've ever been to! 5 hours, good debating and it went smooth all the way except for a slight interruption when some of us began to lag.
All in all it was an amazing but exhausting experience. I hope the next turnchat will be just as good if not better!

Anyway, Uber Isle and the inhabited continent don't have to be two tiles away. Since the galley is traveling on the coast and it can see two tiles into the sea the other continent can be three tiles away (separated from Uber Isle by two coastal tiles, one on each side, and an ocean tile in the middle).
Btw, next time you could just use the game editor to create a similar situation. I would have done the same to demonstrate what I described above but I can't attach images for some reason.

GREAT NEWS ABOUT OUR ISLAND!

With Horses and Iron it means it will be able to defend itself with state of the art troops until gunpowder, and then who knows as saltpeter could pop up on its hills.

I had worried about the construction of horsemen/pikemen since we can't ship them any resources until Astronomy/Navigation (Which is the tech that allows transport over sea tiles?).

My slip up, I knew that but as soon as I saw another color on the other island, I sort of assumed that they were someone new... I guess I'll just have to plead tired and hope that not too many other people notice .

The futherest south hill on uber island would be good place to build a city, with iron and 2 whall resources being within its radius after culture expansion. The French galley is currently exploring the Persian shores (don't ask me why). We've never seen an Iroquois galley head to the Greek island but we know they settled there, so either they sent their own galley or an Iroquois settler snuck aboard the Greek galley.

I hope they take Aro's city suggestion because we can still put New Sidon on my proposed site (it's two tiles away) and REALLY clobber the Frenchies with culture!
