Are you an owner ming? I already know that markos is an owner, and that the owners are Greek. I see some other people are moderators for just some small topic forums... How did they become that, did they buy shares?

I was a mod once on a site long gone. I don't miss being a mod and am thankful for guys like Ming, DanQ, MarkG, and all the other mods who keep the order. Tough job, no reward (aside from the pseudo power). :applause:

No, I'm not an owner, just a peon.

There was a busy period in the OT when Ming was the only real active Mod. My brother lives close to me so we spend a lot of time together. You wouldn't believe how much effort he puts into helping at this site. Since I've been around since the beginning and owe a debt of gratitude for the thousands of hours of enjoyment resulting from all the discussions and games that I've played, I asked Ming if could use a little help. After some discussion with the owners, the rest is history.

You take a lot of abuse and it does require quite a bit of effort and sometimes I wish I was just a regular poster again. But when you find something that brings you enjoyment, it's only fair to contribute back to help it flourish.

I think they agreed to make me a mod, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it. My experience has been that it's usually better to give authority to those that don't actively seek it.
