	PBEM Tournament signup thread Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Note: I no longer have time to run the tournament and it is therefore closed to new players. The info in the rest of this post remains for historical and reference purposes.

Welcome to the Apolyton PBEM Tournament!

We are playing games on two different types of map:

• 4-player games on a specially created tournament map (you can download it here) with the players starting on identical islands along the equator. All factions start with extra Colony Pods, Scout Patrols and formers, and the starting techs of all player factions that are in the game. In the SMACX games, the Progenitors are in the game on continents along the north and south poles.
  
• 4-player games on random maps, with 3 AI factions (no Progenitors) and normal starting units and tech.

Well, one or two games more wouldn't be bad... sign me up for random map games as Deirdre, Cha Dawn, Miriam or Santiago, SMAC or SMAX.

Oh, BTW, I assume we have to find opponents for these tournament matches just like Mongoose did, yes? Or will some be assigned to us.

Also, would you be able to post up at any point a list of the people who've registered for this?

Nah, I usually assign the opponents. When Mongoose made his thread, the previous signup thread had been lost in the murky depths of the forum.

Of course, if you want some specific opponents, feel free to try to recruit them. A separate recruitment thread can also be a good idea if you want to play some non-standard settings (blind research, huge map etc).

I could, but why would you need it? Anyway, those signups that are recent enough that I can assume they are still interested are those on this thread plus EmperorJay and Lord_of_Shadow.

Currently only in one tournament game (ACT057) after a number of them failed to reach completion owing to so many drop-outs.

Would like at least one more, played from the beginning for a change instead of subbing in mid-game. SMAC only.

On tourny map: U of P > PK > Morgan

On random map: U of P > Gaians > PK

Now now, it has been 12 days, not a month. I am doing this on my (dwindling) spare time, and consider it a courtesy, not a duty. That means I need to have both the free time and the inclination to set up a game; it does not happen every day. I do try to get it done in a reasonable timeframe, but I consider less than two weeks reasonable.

And you are in a game as of now. I changed the player roster somewhat to fit in better with others' preferred settings.

More signups are welcome!

Tech Stagnation on (only on tiny,small and normal planets)

Drones are good or Gaians or even PK.

Random map, or tournament. But no Gaians on the tournament map please.

Hi Tau it sounds great.

I´m new in PBEM but experienced in IP and the SMACX in general.
I can play 4 games at the same time...give me Spartans, Morgans or University (free tech: planetary networks or social psych). I Play trandscent and preferable on random map but tournament map is OK to.

Well these are the games I know of that need repalcemnt players.

Chiron Saga: To replace KK as the Hive. Game at around 2145? Strong position. KK had computer failure. SMAC. Find the thread and post in it and then we'll see who has the password

Mabb: To replace Wgabrie as the Drones in year 2209? Also strong position and again computer problems. SMAX Again post in the thread.
