Yeah, I'm not saying it wasn't terrorists. I'm saying I'm not convinced either way.

While he may or may not be corruptible... From everything written, he is a true believer in his cause. Why he has the goals he does, who knows for sure... but he is a believer. He gave up a life of luxery to fight this cause of his... not many people would walk away fromt he life he had before.

As far as protection goes... he didn't need protection prior to 911... he only needed it AFTER it. While he was on the "wanted" list... he did a pretty good job of making fools out of those that wanted him. And the video tapes reinforce that attitude... So why would protection be an incentive to perform an act that would then require that he actually needs more protection. And from judging from the response of the US... it obviously couldn't have been an offer of protection

I tend to lose track of threads. Which one is that?

Ming - maybe they threatened his family - they were given passage back to Afghanistan by the US government straight after the attacks. I have no idea. I'm sure they could find a way though.

Chinese economic and political situations got far worse after the Boxer Rebellion. They had to pay an indemnity 10 times their national incomes, cede territories, and yield many sovereign rights to the Imperialist powers. Signs, such as "Chinese and Dogs not allowed in", are errected in throughout in China where foreigners are present. Have the Muslims ever suffered humiliations like this in their own countries?

But the painful lesson also taught Chinese people that they could not gain respect and past glories by resorting to fanaticism and primitive violence. The Chinese people realized that in order to compete, they must embrace the Western culture and follow its footsteps. Beginning in 1901, China went on a modernization streak that has not even been finished as of today.

You see, the hate and humiliations are not the ultimate motivation for violent political movements, but the probability of success is.

Hopefully, we can give Al-Qaeda and like-minded a thorough thrashing that Muslims will drop them just as fast as the Chinese dropped the Boxers.

Interesting, imposing your will on people does work then. I agreed that giving in to terrorism would be a bad idea, but I consider resolving problems with the masses who aren't terrorist a way to remove the support base without bloodshed.

Consider the IRA situation, would heavy handedness against terrorism and Ireland have been possible to remove the threat? Could the Nazi's have imposed such tactics against the resistance fighters in occupied Europe?

I'm interested in your opinion, you are convincing me that violence can solve a problem.

So you are saying a bunch of administration officials would actually mastermind this attack? And the risk isn't questioning- the risk is if you suggest the idea to someone else he might act horrified and turn you in. And that is what most likely would happen if someone were to suggest the idea originally. And in addition to everything I mentioned, what about the moslems from the middle east who came here, the first thing they do being learning how to fly, and then never trying to acquring any type of pilot job, and this group of people some how ending up on all the flights that were trying to be hijacked?

Sorry redjon, but your suggestion that Bush would do something like this are just absurd, and if Ming weren't monitoring this thread I'd have a few choice words for you right now. So I'll just say that is very likely many people on this forum will change their opinion towards you because of your absurd argument.

Let me state this clearly, since you've faield to comprehend what I've said about three times.

I. AM. NOT. A. CONSPIRACY. THEORIST.

I'm merely offering a counterpoint. I don't firmly believe any side to this, I'm trying to keep an open mind.

It wouldn't astonish me if somebody in the US administration knew or ought to have known (in legal parlance) about the impending attacks, and turned a blind eye to them, knowing that the attacks would lead to the American people throwing their support behind Bush and a more hawkish foreign policy.

It would surprise me, but it wouldn't astonish me, as I said. I have a low opinion of the morality of politicians, even US ones. I doubt they would organize the attack, or finance it. But I can readily accept the idea that some parties in the US administration might accept the prospect of some damage in order to make their own political ends more attainable.

So in that sense, I see where redjon is coming from.

Since I've already been warned, I will just say that I consider being open to the possibilty the administration ordered 9-11 to be equivelant to being open to the suggestion that aliens kiled JFK.

Can't you see that JFK is involved in 9/11!?! It's so obvious!

When he was President, one of the CIA's psychic spies predicted the 9/11 attacks and told JFK that if the attacks weren't allowed to happen, then the US would never be able to attack Iraq and then Saddam would nuke Andorra and start WWIII. JFK wrote this information down and then sent the letter to be hidden in the Vatican along with the Fatima prophecies (JFK was Catholic after all).

In the year 2001, the pope sent a secret messenger to Pat Buchanan (the only American catholic the pope trusted) and told Pat that he needed to encode JFK's message in his new book "The Death of The West". Get it! The "Death of The West" wasn't about how immigration and liberals were destroying America! It was about the 9/11 attacks and how they should be allowed to happen, lest "the West" die! It's so obvious! Does anyone really believe that Pat Buchanan is a xenophobe, obsessed with immigration?

Buchanan took JFK's message and encoded it in his book using the biblical code that American scientists had broken during WWII using information gathered from the Ark of the Covenant, provided to them by a mysterious Dr. Jones. Only the President of the US was privy to the knowledge of this code, so it was the only way to ensure that only George W. Bush would know about the JFK prophecy.

A few months later, while Dick Cheney was reading "The Death of the West" to President Bush as a bedtime story, Bush suddenly noticed the hidden code. He kicked Cheney out of bed and used his secret Presidential decoder ring to break the code. Reading the horrible prophecy, Bush wept openly at the fact that he must allow the deaths of 3000 Americans. But then he thought about all the oil money he would make and was glad. And that's why September 11th was allowed to happen, all thanks to JFK...
