Has there been an enviormental disaster? My pollution chart has gone from 52 turns to over 100. I have detected no further errosion of my shores, nor any burned spots.

Turn 199 to Don.

I fear the 'End is Nigh' for despite the crash building of every Pollution reducing Improvement in every major City German Carbon emissions continue to rise. If Slamp's counter to disaster is correct then I fear none of us will have a recognisable coastline next Turn.

I am mystified for the worst offending City is tiny, is only my 7th most Productive City, only has one Mega Mine and has all possible Base Facilities for Pollution control.

I'm afraid it's off to Space!

Just curious. Do the game messages state that the dead tiles are coming from "pollution" or from the effects of "nuclear winter"? Or does "pollution" include the effects of the nuclear problem. From St Jon's comments, it sounds like the disaster continues regardless of any "standard" pollution reducing measures.

From what I have seen, this game does not have a nuclear winter. Instead I think global warming was accelerated by the nukes, and we had the flooding and new rivers. The latest pollution disasters were both ozone related, new dead zones. There were the space launch warnings which mentioned ozone layer damage. By what I have seen of the newest round of dead zones, the three big polluters got hit very hard, while the civ that got nuked back to the Industrial Age had three new dead zones. Also note the effects of the nukes only lasted a limited number of turns, a spike on the pollution graph for the player doing the nuking.

Put an end to popups!

Thanks for the explanation Swissy.

Swissy, when are we going to get you rated?! You would be a good addition to the ratings chart. You've probably defeated Deity level against the A/I, so we can mark you down with an initial rating of 21.000. What do you think?

That sounds suspiciously near 'gloating' Swissy! Were it not the 'Season of Goodwill' I might feel moved to make an uncharitable comment considering the utter devastation that has been wrought upon Germany even to the extent that 1/4 of my Caravans are now redundant due to the destruction of the Tiles upon which they were based.

As a gesture of German committment to lowering Pollution levels I am reseaching Fuel Cells and will have them in 2 Turns time, Riots permitting, and will then Gift the Advance to all, without condition, and undertake to build Eco-Transits in all major German Cities.

Sorry Slamp but it's the best I can do!

OK by me though with the rate of Tile Degeneration I'm suffering at the moment I somehow doubt there will even be a Germany at the End.
