Togas is away, he'll be back on the 15th.
If anyone has any questions about his goals and what he's accomplished this term, I'd be happy to answer (if such a campeign thread was created by Nimitz, then I'd probably represent Togas there for a few days). I can't speek, however, about next term -- we planned ahead to his return, but not beyond then.
Togas is really best represented by his work, however. A lot of information, compiled by the department under him, can be found in our office thread, at http://www.apolyton.net/forums/show...threadid=59421. He's put together a well managed department, and I think I speek for the entire Foreign Ministry when I say that we're proud of what we've accomplished this term.

lol, too much party politics in this election.
Hawks running around all over the place opposing the DIA... DIA running all over the place opposing the Hawks...
From now on, I'm officially running all over the place and opposing all this opposing based on parties busness.
Seriously, we've got some good canidates running against each other, but I think that the determination of the 'best' one shouldn't be based on party. If you seriously can't pick, do what I do in those cases, and just don't vote.
Having said that, this is a Democracy game, so I guess everyone can do what they want, no matter how much it bugs me . (That's one of the things we've gotta change in the Constitutional Convention .

At least this poll seems to be working.
Best of Luck Nimitz. Your insightful comments will be a great service to Apolyton, if you get into office.
Sean.

I have returned from vacation and need to start by thanking adaMada for his help while I was away. Without his help, the Ministry would have been in a horrible fix, and I am extremely grateful that he could fill in for me this past week.
Now that I'm back, I hope to be available to answer any questions before the election ends. Most of my work has been apparant, and can be seen through in the Foreign Ministry Office Thread. I plan to improve upon the system we put in place last term, and promise to keep the Ministry thread as current and full of information as possible.
I would like to make a couple of quick points about myself and how I'd run things:
Major decisions are polled and discussed. I started by doing "Machiavelli" threads, and later just went on to make general discussion threads. Major decisions are also discussed with other ministers and staff. A lot happens behind the scenes with PMs. Disagreements are hashed out and preliminary plans are formed. I intend to remain just as active next term if elected.
You will always have as much current information as I can give you, in one summary post, but also in our office tread updates. If you have a question, the answer should be there. If it is not, PM me or my staff and we'll make sure you get the answer.
I have my opinions. I know how I'd like to resolve most issues. I poll anyway. I find myself hoping that you'll feel the way I do about the issues but if you don't, then I'll go along with the majority. This is a democracy, after all.
Your suggestions and plans are not ignored. I frequently use plans proposed by citizens, and plans that aren't used word-for-word are improved upon and implimented. If I'm FAM again, your ideas and insights will be put into action.
I am not a member of any political party. Please do not vote for or against me on a party basis. Please choose the candidate you feel will best serve Apolytonia.
Personally, I'm in support of the current war against Persia. I would like to see us aquire much needed luxuries from Persia, but I will accept a peaceful settlement when the people of Apolytonia call for it. I am also very much in favor of trade, commerce, and internal development. I would like to see us independently research technology, and not be depended solely on other nations for our educations. I am expansionistic by nature, I yearn to see us fully settle Uber Isle and will vigorously protect our knowledge of that isle from the other nations.
Under my watch, Apolytonia will continue to be expansionistic, and we will continue to actively seek out trades. We will respond with strength to any would-be aggressor, stay out of foreign wars, and take advantage of our diplomatically challanged neighbors.

Welcome back, Togas!
I must to say this: Nimitz is an excellent candidate, but I voted for Togas. An excellent candidate too, and he’s experienced. In fact, I'm supporting everyone in this term who is running for anything. An excellent term, btw. Aggressive with our enemies, enthusiastic about good ideas, very friendly with us, citizens of Apollitonya, and very, very well succeeded. In this case, I’m a conservative…
