The Glorious Incompetance of the Russian Army Through History:
Suvorov: famous 'bullets are fools' doctrine dooms russian army to being in love with bayonet charges for the next 120 years.
1805: Austerlitz. WTF?
1806-7: Russian campaign in Prussia against Napoleon, the Russian Divisions execute many brilliant maneuvers, forced marches, etc...NOT to either engage or avoid the enemy, but in order to avoid the army's commander, who the divisional commanders hated (Buxhowden?). The 'Russian Orthodox Army' loots and burns their Prussian Ally, at one point Army HQ is even looted
Crimean War: Despite having many advantages, Russia is isolated and handily defeated by a relatively small Anglo-French force.
1905: The incredibly stupid blunders of the naval and land operations of this ridiculous war.
1914-17: Despite overwhelming superiority, the Russians are massacred at Tannenburg due to incredible uncoordination and total incompetence (uncoded transmissions etc). The war goes on to become even more of a massacre...
1917-22: Russia succeeds in descending into chaos. During this period, Russian military mobs are easily dispersed by Brits, Germans, Fins, Japanese, Canadians, (in Vladivostock). Even Czech prisoners cannot be stopped from going wherever they want.
1940: The Russians are embarrassed by the massively underwhelming Finns, having to settle for some land.
1941-43: Russian boobery on the eastern front, tank dogs, walking over minefields, lots of wasteful, 'sledgehammer/ caveman' approach tactics.
1956: A few Rebels chase out the Red backed government in Hungary
Cuban Missile Crisis: Stupid Russian diplomacy allows Kennedy to grandstand some Russian missiles in Cuba.
1979-85: The utterly underwhelming Afghans, many armed with blackpowder muskets and stolen RPGs, shoot down so many aircraft and torch so many vehicles that the effort becomes unstainable, again showing the 'big dumb mass of crap' approach to be flawed.
Gulf War: The essentially Russian doctrine Iraqi Army again proves the 'BDMoC' theory wrong.
etc etc etc in all the other countries with awful Warsaw Pact military doctrines (and therefore equipment).
1996: Russia again demonstrates the 'Grog See, Grog Smash' approach to warfare and manages to stick their collective dicks in the grinder.
What does it prove?
Maybe the Russians should adopt the Japanese constitution..? Or contract out?

Yes, Mr. Seeker you could be proud of your self, I’m very, very angry. So, my post will be damn rude.
First of all Mr. Sucker, you are an idiot who know nothing about Russian history or Russian army. (It’s normal, why should you learn our history? But if you don’t know smth you should shut the f*ck up and be silent, but not typing such bullsh*t as you typed) I don’t know why I should waste my time on you Mr. Sucker, but I’ll try.
quote: Suvorov: famous 'bullets are fools' doctrine dooms russian army to being in love with bayonet charges for the next 120 years. |
Suvorov is one of the greatest generals humanity saw during history. To your knowledge he didn’t lost a SINGLE battle during his lifetime. Most of his battles he won when he had lesser forces then enemy. He was genius general, a general by God’s gift. Who the f*ck are you to question his talent?
quote: 1805: Austerlitz. WTF? |
Yes, WTF?
First off all there wasn't only Russian forces blaim Prussians for defeat too.
We lost this battle, so what? We won other battles vs. France, before Austerlitz and after it. For example, in 1799, Suvorov f*cked French army in Italy and in Switzerland. Battles near river Adda, Novi battle and others. At the same time Russian fleet went in Adriatic took Ionic islands and French fortress Corfu.
And btw, perhaps you forget how Napoleon ends his campaign against Russia? Perhaps you forget that WE WON war of 1812? So, WTF?
quote: 1806-7: Russian campaign in Prussia against Napoleon, the Russian Divisions execute many brilliant maneuvers, forced marches, etc...NOT to either engage or avoid the enemy, but in order to avoid the army's commander, who the divisional commanders hated (Buxhowden?). Brilliant! Just brilliant. Maneuvers to avoid the army’s commander. Where did you get this bs?
Buxhowden? Hmm… perhaps Buxgeven? The guy who later, in 1808 during war with Sweden only with 24 000 of troops f*cked up Swedes and attached Finland to Russian Empire, this guy?
Btw perhaps it’s news for you, but at this period we were in war with Turkey and Iran also. During campaign of 1804-1806 years Russia f*cked Iran’s army and took Baku, Kubin’s, Gyandge’s and Derbent’s provinces (sure I don’t know how to type their names on English properly, my fault). In 1807 Russian army resisted Turkish invasion in Caucasus and near Dunai river. Russian fleet won battles in Dardanelle and Afon’s battles.
We won both war with Iran and Turkey even considers that our largest forces were in Europe.
quote: Crimean War: Despite having many advantages, Russia is isolated and handily defeated by a relatively small Anglo-French force. |
Bullshit.
First of all it wasn’t our first war vs. Turkey. In 1737 we took Ochakov and Kinburn fortresses and in 1739 Russians attached Azov to their Empire.
In 1770, Russian forces under command of general Roomyantsev, f*cked Turkish army in Dunai’s basin in battles of Larga and Kagool. At the same time Russian fleet, first time in history went non-stop from Baltic sea to Black sea and destroyed Turkish fleet which was TWICE larger in battle of Chesmen’s harbor.
In 1773 Suvorov took Turtookay fortress and in 1774 won Kozloodzhe battle. In 1774 Turkey surrendered and Crimean peninsula was declared independent from Turkey. Russians also gained Kerch and Kinburn.
Next war, 1787-1791. Suvorov f*cked Turkish landing’s forces in Kinburn. Then he took Ochakov again and defeated Turks in Fokshan and Ryimnik battles (btw, having only 25 000 soldiers, he f*cked 100 000 Turkish army in brilliant attack). Then Suvorov took Izmail fortress, it was disaster for Turkey. Russian fleet under command of Saint Feyodr Ushakov (btw, he was in command of 40 naval battles during his life time. Never lost a single battle) destroyed Turkish fleet in three major battles- Kerch, Tender Island and Kilakri. In 1791 Turkey surrendered and Russians finally gain total control over Crimea peninsula and gain lands between Boog and Dnester rivers.
Next war was1806-1811. After Kutuzov with 15 000 of soldiers destroyed 60 000 Turkish army in Rushook battle in 1811, Turkey surrendered and lost: Bessoraby, Abhazia, part of Gorgia and declared autonomy of Serbia.
Now back to Crimean war. November 18 1853 Russian fleet under command of admiral Nakhimov beat Turkish fleet at Sinop harbor. Brits and French declare war. During summer campaign of 1854 Russians beats Turks several times. Brits+Frenh landings in Baltic, White Sea, and Far East were defeated. Their greater success was siege of Sevastopol. It last 349 days!!! 30 000 garrison resisted for 349 days under heavy bombardment and almost without food and ammo. And you call it handily defeated? Yes, after this war Russia lost some territories and part of its influence in Black Sea. So f*cken what? No one can win always.
quote: 1905: The incredibly stupid blunders of the naval and land operations of this ridiculous war. |
Sneak attack superiority in numbers and in quality of ships. The only thing why we signed peace treaty, it’s because tzar was more worried about first Russian revolution then about victory over Japan.
quote: 1914-17: Despite overwhelming superiority, the Russians are massacred at Tannenburg due to incredible uncoordination and total incompetence (uncoded transmissions etc). The war goes on to become even more of a massacre... |
Of course it was massacre. But only for Russians? Do you know that Germans casualties on Russian front were more then their casualties on other fronts combined? Here is quote for you from German general Gunter Blumentrit, who fought against Russians in both world wars: “During seven years war, Frederic the Great learned to respect battle capabilities of Russian soldier. Napoleon considered Borodino the bloodiest of all his battles. During WW1 I fought on Eastern front, Russian generals were no matches for German generals and their offensive tactics weren’t flexible. But in defense Russians were very good. They very fast created very good fortifications. Their soldiers were masters of night warfare and warfare in forests. Russian soldier prefer close combat. His needs are small and he has really amazing endurance and tolerance. This is a Russian soldier who gain our respect during WW1.” This general was an American POW and wrote his memoirs by order of US military deportment. It’s analysis of reasons why Hitler lost WW2. Entire chapter of his book dedicated to Russian soldier. In fact this book is a warning to guys like you and David who believe in shitnes of Russian army.
quote: 1917-22: Russia succeeds in descending into chaos. During this period, Russian military mobs are easily dispersed by Brits, Germans, Fins, Japanese, Canadians, (in Vladivostock). Even Czech prisoners cannot be stopped from going wherever they want. |
What a b*llshit. Young Soviet republic had civil war, hunger, was in international isolation and was invaded by 14 foreign countries, but not only it won the civil war, but kicked your asses including Canadian asses. You run like beaten dog from my country. I see no reason for you to be proud of your army during this period. 14 bastards were unable to crush Russians who was in civil war. Great, just great, super-conquerors my ass.
quote: 1940: The Russians are embarrassed by the massively underwhelming Finns, having to settle for some land. |
And took from Finns all what they wanted.
quote: 1941-43: Russian boobery on the eastern front, tank dogs, walking over minefields, lots of wasteful, 'sledgehammer/ caveman' approach tactics. |
Put your superior tactics in your superior ass. When we fought, you drink beer and danced in bars. Now you are lecturing us how we should have been fought vs. the most powerful army of that time. F*cken cowards, waited until we done all dirty work. You think we should use superior tactics like french for example who surrendered after 40 days of war? Millions of my fellow countryman died on this war, they died in fight. Who the f*ck are you to question SU role in victory over Germany? What Canada done for victory? War efforts only, and examples of your “brilliant” tactics, no bs about lend-lease please.
quote: 1956: A few Rebels chase out the Red backed government in Hungary |
That’s why Hungary stayed on Soviet orbit until last days of Soviet Union?
quote: Cuban Missile Crisis: Stupid Russian diplomacy allows Kennedy to grandstand some Russian missiles in Cuba. |
Do you have any f*cken idea, what tha f*ck are you talking about? Russian missiles were removed from Cuba only after secret deal between Soviets and USA was signed. USA removed the same missiles from Turkey. And you call this stupid diplomacy?
quote: 1979-85: The utterly underwhelming Afghans, many armed with blackpowder muskets and stolen RPGs, shoot down so many aircraft and torch so many vehicles that the effort becomes unstainable, again showing the 'big dumb mass of crap' approach to be flawed. |
Bullshit.
Armed with Stingers and trained by American instructors. Show me one single regular army, which won war vs. guerillas. And btw, we withdraw from Afghanistan in 1989 (you even don’t know dates from modern history) and only because we had too much internal problems. It wasn’t a military defeat. Anyhow we done MUCH better then Americans done in Vietnam. During ten years we controlled much larger country and lost only 14 500 soldiers, while they lost about 60 000.
quote: Gulf War: The essentially Russian doctrine Iraqi Army again proves the 'BDMoC' theory wrong. etc etc etc in all the other countries with awful Warsaw Pact military doctrines (and therefore equipment). |
Bullsh*t.
You fought with Russians there? Russian generals were in charge of Iraq army? Iraq was a member of Warsaw pact? What connect Russian army and Iraq army except that we sold them our old tanks? USA done the same.
quote: 1996: Russia again demonstrates the 'Grog See, Grog Smash' approach to warfare and manages to stick their collective dicks in the grinder. |
It’s your f*cken luck that Canada don’t have mountings like Caucasus and partisans on them. But when Quebec rebels will smash pathetic Canadian army. It will be my turn to laugh. Most of the credit for disgrace of 1996 goes for yeltSIN, his leadership his desire to gain more voices in election year and more important absence of political will. We may lost first campaign, but we won second. In 1999 politicians didn’t command our military and our army crushed terrorists pretty soon, remaining bastards run to Georgia.
quote: What does it prove? |
Nothing, except you are brainwashed moron.
It’s funny to see how Canadian- a citizen of British colony (remind me who is ‘de-juro’ the head of your “state”?) a country without long history or strong military tradition is lecturing Russians how they should fight. Even Yankees (hi, Chris) was able to kick your asses. Only such brainwashed moron as you Mr. Sucker could believe that Russia from tiny Moscovian state could turn into largest country on this planet without great military strength.
P.S. F*ck you.
And have a nice day.

Oh really? How nice The summ of time Russia spent in wars in military campaigns more probably much longer then age of Canada as country. We won in hundreds of times more wars, then Canada ever participated.
quote: 1500s chasing out the mongols, novgorod |
BS. Novgorod and Mongols?
Last major battle between Russian and Mongols was in 1380.
quote: 1600s stalemated the poles and CO |
Repeling of Polish invasion, not stalemate.
quote: 1700s messing around with some miscellaneous turks, sweden and poles and friends |
Messing around? Hmmm…Sweden under Karl XII has most powerfull army in Europe and it was crushed by Russians in 1721.
quote: 1810-12: Probably the most successful period. The Russians march all the way to Paris under Alexander III. One is tempted to say that the weather and brit blockade did half the job... |
Oh sure, as always. Russians win always only because of weather and because of western help. Invent some kind of new bs please.
quote: 1945 East Prussia and Manchuria, the Red Army gets its act together (against a demoralized, cut off, unsupplied foe...) |
What about 1938 Hassan lake and 1939 Khal-kin-Gol where larger Japanese forces were crushed by red army. Japanese were demoralized, cut off, unsupplied foe in 1938-39 too?
