Can somebody help me? What level are we playing on? Deity? How big does a city have to be before an attack will capture it and not destroy it completely? I ask this in order to make sure there's nothing to be gained from attacking my cities, not so I can attack others.

Yes we are playing Diety mode. Normally, a size one city gets destroyed if it is captured, and larger cities just shrink in size by 1 or 2 when attacked and captured.

Thanks King Thor. I had thought that the harder the level, the larger the city had to be so that you could capture it with an invasion. On Deity level, if a city of size 2 is invaded, will it always be reduced by size 1 and captured, or will it sometimes be destroyed?

A size 2 city rarely gets destroyed in an attack but usually not.
