Don't take it so bad PN. Nothing personal. Almost all of us here are ruthless. Though I'm sure they will deny it. No matter what kind of frilly words you see here and there, most of us want to crush the other civilizations before they crush ours. You'll see diplomatic words scattered around the forum in an attempt to sway players to their side, but secretly, they are ALL awaiting their opportunity to pounce, [except for, maybe, Paul who is searching for Aliens D-E-C- (drop an octave) C-G ]. Some wait longer than others, that's all.

And it wasn't me that discovered Age of Reason, and I don't think it was Thor. I put it off as long as possible. Thor lost Labyrinth's use and I lost the use of the Philosopher's Stone. Both good wonders, now completely useless. Keygen is right though, Age of Reason was inevitable by this stage of the game, PBEM or otherwise.

"0 AD: News have spread all over the empire. The birth of the son of a god, the one and only god a small monotheistic religion believes to, the heretics as the most priests call them, rised storms of protests all over the country among the believers who only bow in front of the official religion of the twelve gods!

Although the wise King Constantine had declared the Tolerance, the right every subject of the Greek empire to believe in their own god, the most fanatics proceeded to violent acts against the "heretics". Although the King favours each religion the priests ordered the soldiers to search for the newborn and execute it.

The King answered with the public execution of these priests and ordered the construction of a great monument where the believers of the one god would worship their god. It will be so great, this monument, that will take years and years of design and construction. An official name hasn't given to the monument, as the scientists studying religions do not know well this particular religion yet so they can't find a suitable name for it yet.

This move of the great and wise King has to do with two things:

a) Confucius Academy was the original monument to be built in the fine city of Corinth. The mechanics had studied so well the designs that they had promised they would construct it in 7 months! But the announcement a month ago that our friends the Japanese had started the construction of the same monument lead the King to drop the project to favour his beloved neighbour.

b) The strife between the followers of the official religion with the other existing religions should come to an end. With this great monument the official state and the King himself will make clear that the other religions have to be respected as equals!


The Greeks announced that they will recognize the right of the Russians to protect themselves from the aggressive Zulus and they will diplomatically support them until a formal announcement is made by the Zulus fully explaining the reason they brutally attacked the Russians!"

A band of explorers came into Moscow today with news that a people who call themselves the Greeks had begun work on a wonder that would leave the wrold in awe. We also got word that the Assyrians were building the same wonder.

Our Great King spent several hours contemplating his response to this development. It appears the Zulu armies have called off their unsuccessful offensive. Perhaps they have realized the futility of their actions. Let them know that Russia is a peaceful nation, and although we have an entire division present to defend our border, we will not pursue the retreating enemy into the Jungles of Zululand. We claim no Zulu territory as ours, and we have no ill will toward their people. Perhaps the Zulu king would consider a more diplomatic approach to solving our disagreements?

I also need volunteers to moderate in Face of Earth (which is running) and Chicken Run and Killer Game which are getting ready to start.
