	Pyramids Secret Chambers Revealed on NGC. Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Has anyone been following this?
I heard about it last week, and there is supposed to be a program tonight on NGC, but the site also says something is happening on Sunday.

For those who don't know, they think there is this chamber inside the Great Pyramid, leading to it there is a shaft which is blocked by a stone, and now they are found a way to get past that stone or something to see what is inside the chamber.

It was pretty hilarious. But for those that haven't seen it, I won't spoil it.

Their main premise was that SLAVES weren't the main labor force for the pyramids. Professional labor gangs were used and treated quite well. While there logic was a bit thin, they did make some good points. That part of the program was interesting, the sensationalism parts fell flat.

They're thinking it's going to take them about a year of planning to get to that other wall and see what's behind.
What they did yesterday was drill a hole through the first one and send a camera to see on the other side. Now they'll have to remove the first wall somehow ( or try to drill through the second one from their current location. Don't know how long the space between the walls is.)

They found a skeleton in it. WHAT A SURPRISE

I know specialists in the field would be really excited about it, but the common viewer at home was probably laughing and making comparisions to AC's vault.


Richelieu; the gap didn't look much more than 4-6 feet, but it might have been decieving due to the small size of the passageway.

I do remember that Edgar Casey guy said that under the left paw of the Sphynx, there would be a chamber that would reveal the truth about Atlantis. They found a chamber, but the Eygption government won't let anyone take a look.

What was really funny was they way the female commentator was so desperate to make it sound like it was such a HUGE thing that they had found another wall just a few inches behing the one they made such a big deal about drilling through! It was such a desperate attempt to make something big out of nothing that special...

The opening of the sarcophogus was particularly disgusting. What did they expect, a mummy to pop out? I don't disparage the archaeological importance of studying such remains, but the TV sensationalism around it sucked. And was the two-hours of padding before doing this stuff really necessary?

At least the Egyptologist was doing a real service when he stressed that it was insulting to believe that aliens or supernatural forces were involved in making the Pyramids. It was simply the monumental effort of the Egyptian people.

I think it's frequently overlooked how insulting it truly is to Egyptians (Mayans, Aztecs, etc), to claim that aliens must have built their wonders.

I hear this crap all the time from my Chinese students. I ask them how they would feel if someone stated that aliens must have built the Great Wall, since surely it was impossible that Chinese could have done such a thing on ther own. That usually gets the point across.

Yes, when she said that since there's a second wall, that what was behind it was TWICE as important, I almost fell off the couch laughing.

The best part was when they opened the tomb and the professor was having a little fun with our anouncer about the possible germs in the tomb, on how they wouldn't affect him, but could effect the announcer. Our announcer was so brain dead that it took him a few seconds to figure out that he was being made fun of.


And it was a monumental effort of the egyptian people, and not abused SLAVES>

But there are still questions that are unanswered.
I sort of watched it from behind my comp, but in the village there was only room for 2000 workers IIRC, then how did 2000 workers build such a great pyramid, in one lifetime, without uhm...what's that word again...things to lift the stones with ropes.

Everyone is now saying that it is a great achievement of the Egyptians, but in fact have no idea how they actually managed to build it.
There are also theories that they were built by an more ancient and more advanced civilization before the Egyptians, wouldn't claiming the Pyramids for the Egyptians be insulting to them to?

Dunno if you heard that egyptologist on Dutch radio this morning but he identified the images of the "second door" as being the backside of the outer pyramid stones. Behind that "door" are the outskirts of Cairo

Yes, they were all speculations.
Like what they called a dormitory, could have been a dormitory for slaves.
What they said was the head builders house (because of the presence of a STONE wall and silos) could have been a fortress where the stored the food so the slaves couldn't steal it.
The claimed it couldn't have been slaves because of the the good medical attention they recieved. (the amputee example) but those remains could have been from one of the supervisors and not an actual worker.

Yes, all speculation, but done pretty well with an actual attempt to tie it all together. I've seen worse. Especially on FOX

The thing about the slave labor theory is that the Pyramid is just too... precise. The geometry, the precision... it was obviously a labor of love for the builders. I don't think slaves could have made a monument with such qualities.

Heaven only knows why it was such a labor of love for the builders... it must have been awful work. Some mysteries will probably never be fully revealed.

You didn't listen completely. They pointed out that the suspected "dormitory" was not the only place where people slept, and that people likely slept all over the city. They also clearly said the estimated population that was building the pyramid was over 20,000, and they worked for 30 years.

And we know exactly how they built the pyramids, it's not a mystery. They discussed this in the program. Even without wheels or pulleys, they had the means, just so long as they had the labor, which they clearly had. It was very hard labor, but not mysterious.
