I was thinking of resurrecting the three PBEM games I inteanted to start a year ago know as Keygen's Trilogy but never did .

The one is the team game between generation where you will participate as well. I haven't decided yet wether it will be of 3 or 4 teams. 3 teams will be faster but 4 teams can include more generations. Maybe if all player are fast and reliable which I beleive you can make an 8-player (4 teams) game relatively fast. Any suggestion is welcomed.

You may moderate the one or both of the other two games.

I would propose to set rules on who can or cannot join the league. 6 month of continuing PBEM game play, speed and reliability would be good testimonials that the player won't drop off from his/her games and league so easily. I had the idea that you were in a PBEM game for 7-8 months
I do remember you regularly posting here from the spring of 2001!

Besides the 6 months is a proposal for a league and has nothing to do with the specific game

I joined Apolyton in April 2001, but purely for Internet Play.. I think the first games I joined were chicken run and Happy Killers.... I want in to a team game, and Hunter has agreed to partner me.

Chicken Run started 5 months ago so one month left for the completion of half a year of PBEM gaming

Besides the fact that you accepted to run the ratings makes you reliable to me

We can launch the team game (Generations) within weekend if only 3 pairs play.

I could email a couple more people and have a forth pair as well.

I got the impression that a lot more than 4 teams would be instantly available, and I think it would be good to see teams attract further members over time - maybe 4 or 6 to make tribes - which would also mean if in team play a player does have to leave, another tribe member could take over... I just seen that Pat has to leave, which is a big shame..

I have a very reliable individual working on Civleague site, and it would be great to have a Tribes page for each and every tribe where they can do as they like.... we are a social clannish bunch here anyway!

The first two are not the best position but it's still early in the game. Do Some PBEM I had taken over for another player, not in last place but not that great either.

My apologies to those in the games, I will continue to play until a replacement is found or until my schedule gets too hectic.

You people are coming up with new kinds of PBEM games, right? Well I have an idea, and I'd just like to see what people think of it.

I propose a role-play required game. I mean you all post here after every turn anyway, right?

You could have a different 'character' to represent each different aspect or goal of your civilization (say a military leader, a religiuos leader, a friendly diplomat, a fierce nationalist). There's lots of time in the early (slow) part of a PBEM game to come up with anything you like. Personally, I'm trying it out for myself in my first (and only, so far) game; Live Wire.

Once the game gets going, all the diplomacy and interactions between the players (the fun stuff) will be between all fictional people that the players have come up with.

What do you think? Stupid? Great? Too much imagination involved? (Alot of you die hard CTPer's seem to be older than my mere 18 years, so I'm not sure if you'd be interested)...but if you think it's a stupid idea, tell me that too.

Some attempts for role playing in games had been made in the past and some short of it has been done in many games, we even had a role playing contest but didn't make it through eventually.

Yes, role playing is a great idea and it's what makes PBEM games great but limited time from most players and boredom sometimes prevent us from using it often.

My suggestion is to turn your post into a new game challenge for a role playing game that will have something different than the ordinary. I am sure that you will find players to join in

In DoSomePBEM I can inform you, that the mighty Hagar is ruling the game supreme and brilliant - though a little blackiced japaneese tries to catch up.

And further more - The Great Nation of Wikings are neighbours to the puny french nation - soon without any decent leader.

Some players are doing this actually. Some events of the game are written as propaganda, individual adventures, military report, diplomatic communications ...

It's fun. But A lot of time, motivation and some imagination are mandatory.

There was a thread which have surely disapear with some last apolyton server problems, in which some people have tried to organize a role-play contest.
The project failed due to several problems. The main problems were :
1) Who will judge the quality of role-play ?
2) How judge the quality.
3) Role-playing needs time, motivation & imagination all over the game long...

Short games in a limited period of time is maybe the solution.

I did that first place to make a strong(er) nation down there - secondly to annoy Blackice and to keep him busy. Now they have made peace I see.

Japan is afterall my greatest trouble right now - though not yet in war or nothing else.

An alliance between Japan and France could push the americans and the australians to decide.

Along with the cheating thread, the age & gender thread, CtP Info Center, some useful strategy tips thread and much more!

I think all missing threads are backed up in some place and haven't been restored for disk space reason.

Go see this thread for more details and don't forget to ask from the admin to restore them as I have done 3-4 times and haven't gotten a decent response yet

Elle est juste dans les jeux que certains des fonctions ne vous fonctionnent pas savent que ce que veux dire je les gens ont présenté leurs observations sur lui plus que souvent. je ne puis pas même être d'accord avec une option diplomatique qui peut faire ou casser un jeu pour nous de cette façon.
