I've noticed a slowdown in the forums as well. It appears that the more people there are in chat — and I was one of them last night, when Mike from FIRAXIS was there — the slower the forums become, even with avatars disabled.

Using Netscape 4.78 logged in not logged in and not cookied. I already found out that you have to use cookies to post. If I use the link on the forum page I get the same empty screen as yesterday.

1) you'll never be able to see the "normal mode" with netscape 4 cause it doesnt support iframes
2) you get the php errors cause you have disabled cookies. i'm sorry but it's not my top priority to make the chat work without cookies

This might be a biggie but I have to ask: Can you make it so that the pages of the CtP1/2 forums show who are in the CtP1/2 room rather than who are in all rooms together? (Or show all the chat-participants but the CtP1/2 room members in bold or something?) And that entering the Chat from there will immediately take you to the CtP1/2 room? And the same for the SMAC, Civ2 and Civ3 rooms of course...

Yeah it seemed to be obvious that it wasn't your top priority to make it non cookie, but it was at least to be readable without cookies. Thanks again for restoring this.
