My conclusion is that it's a nice feature, plus you get your message visible on the top of the ACS Forums main page. But it still does need adjustment and fine tuning.

I already tried to hijack the chatroom by declaring it as a territory of the new Livonian empire by rising the Livonian flag, but someone burned the flag. @$$2½(t!

The chatroom doesn't work at all for me now. Not with Mozilla (1.1) or MSIE (6.0 SP1). Looks there's some trouble now, so that I could at the first try only join the chat, but not talk as my messages never appeared on the chatscreen.

Markos I am running Mozilla 1.2 alpha on XP and it is working great. Just wanted to let you know that. It appears that you are designing this yourself, correct? If so it is looking good.

I just wonder if having the last chat message posted at the top of each forum is a good idea. I can see a million ways this could be abused. I am sure you have considered that, but I am still wondering if the trust you are placing in the hands of all these people is justified.

could you clarify this a bit?


as far as i can tell, the chat room is functional in all styles
the display of messages has been completely revised, there is no "flicker" from reloading all the messages together

a userlist will be added today

it's kind of weird seeing the discusion at the top of the page. Depending on how fast you're refreshing or changing pages, the conversations lose all continuity quite quickly.
