Enter the AD-FREE zone

We're so stupid we can tell how much something is worth no matter whether it's paper or metal.

What are you thinking - this says one on it but it's a coin, that must be worth less than this note that says one on it.

I wish we were as clever as you Greeks.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Sure if the most worth coin was 50 drachmas. And given the same situation your inflation would sky rocket unlike the eurozone's.

You are not clever, you pass time is plainspotting for fook's sake.

Got spare money?

And we are not talking about coin and note having the same value. but coins have extremely different value which changed in one day.

I'm telling you this again because you're english.

Explain to me how they do this. How? I would really like to see how to take advantage of someone who doesn't like to use 1 and 2 euro coins. Do they refuse to accept 1 and 2 euro coins? Do they raise their prices to the nearest note denomination?

A one euro coin is worth, well, one euro. If people don't want to spend it, they still have one euro in their pocket.

I disagree. I feel the reason they've never worked is because you never get them. I've only gotten dollar coins at the post office as change. If they are serious about using dollar coins, the one dollar bill has got to go. I've only gotten 1 Sacajewa dollar ever. I decided to keep it since it was neat. Just like I kept a loonie and toonie from Canada.

That and they keep making them the same size as the quarter.

Credit cards are much better, I agree.

If I could get away with paying for everything by plastic it would make things so much easier.

Of course paitkis would have a nightmare, plastic devalues money even further, you just don't appreciate how much you are spending unless you pass over notes.

paitkis, I have a suggestions. For everyone coin you have, stick it to a piece of paper with the denomination written on it with a big black marker pen. Hand over the paper money and you will appreciate its value more.

Tired of ads?

I'm still wondering how retailers take advantage of the fact that people don't like 1 and 2 euro coins.

Do people throw 1 euro coins in the trash? 2 euro coins?

Suffering from ads?

Habit is stronger than nature.

since hiabit creates perceptions and since these perceptions are exploited AND all this creates a REAL result namely inflationatory pressures, the answer is to deal pragmatically with it.

Namely have 1 and 2 euros in notes.

pallid gays used to excel in pragmatistic solutions but now they're just dumb.

There is some deep-rooted mistrust against banknotes in Germany. This is a verse about the "assignates", the French revolutionary currency which was used to pull the valuable metal out of the pockets of the freshly conquered parts of Germany:

Von Lumpen ward ich einst gemacht,
von Lumpen an den Rhein gebracht,
von Lumpen nährten Lumpen sich
und mancher ward ein Lump durch mich.

(sorry, it's half as funny in English. Lump = scoundrel, Lumpen = rag):

From rag I once was made,
By soundrels brought to the Rhine,
Of rag scoundrels nourished themselves
and some became scoundrels by me.

The change is natural and would have happened anyway Euro or no Euro. The Swedish 10 kr coin was introduced in 1991, and is fully assimilated by now.

I don't remember of having had a colony . Ah yes , I know what you mean. I just returned from Crete (KPHTH for you), there in the summer months the Europeans exceed the Greeks by several times, probably you talk about that. But I didn't see any jerks among the Greeks there, they all were nice people. In what part of Greece do you live?

By the way, I understand your discomfort about € coins. That owl on the back is just plain ugly.

Ssshhhhh, I know that . And the "owl", I mean Pallas Athene, has always been my favorite among the Greek deities. But for people like paiktis we Germans are just dumb Huns without any culture, so I do my best to feed this prejudice.

and no Sir Ralph, i dont think germans are uncultured huns. well maybe i do, but so does TIME magazine. can you blame us? really.

still i have to say i have much respect and liking for the german romantics. in particular Herman Hesse, even if his last name in Greek, literally means "take a dump".

but i'm willing to overlook that.

The constant accusations of homosexuality lead me to think you are confused about your own sexuality.

Except for the US ones the colonies on the whole were allowed to determine their own future. I'm not sure your point is.
