In November, the state of Nevada will be faced with Question #2 which involves this state's version of the Defense of Marriage act (DoM pronounced: Dum). In 2000, voters here approved of the Dum act. Although support for the Dum act has been waning, it's likely to pass a second time this year, making it into the Nevada state constitution, even though the Nevada constitution ALREADY discriminates against gay marriages, both here and out-of-state. This Dum act is redundant and unnecessary!

Really not looking forward to having my legal status as Second-class Citizen in this country being reaffirmed yet again...

Fez, you're probably right. I don't know the Koran, so I can't say for certain. It's just all the Muslim famillies I've ever seen are fairly liberal/modern/whatever-you-want-to-call-them Muslims, and it's One Husband to One Wife for them. I don't doubt that more conservative people approve of multiple spouses. Heck, "Be fruitful and multiply" is taken as God's go-ahead for multiple wives.

What is at hand here is that gay people are human beings because they make decisions, judgement and have opinions. Animals do not.
