Because I was busy at the time I got the job I didn't get the post. Besides it is only an ongoing post which gets me a bit of money, nothing too significant in terms of career moves. That is still going on...

I always report my political activity unspecified, that way no-one will get offended. On my college application I stated that I'd been "chairman of a local club of one of sweden's largest Party youth leagues" and left it at that.

When you get an interview, you have met all the basic requirements. Now your prospective employer wants to see other things, such as your character and how good will you fit into the organisation.

Which reminds me, did you send a thank you letter?

As I said, you need to work on your interview skills.

A thank you letter is a personalised letter you send to your interviewer within 24 hours of your interview. You thank him/her for the opportunity for the interview, recap the important points raised during the meeting, and put forth your strong points to meet those points.

Remember to get name(s), title(s), and address(es) of your interviewer(s).

Still doesn't work attractive.

What details can you tell me about the chef job? Why did you quit?

Arrange your working experience in reverse chronological order (newest first).

What did you teach Prof Butler?

"The search for an East Asian Economics professor"? What does that entail?

About the book you edited for prof. Abelove, it is very academic? Do you need a thorough knowledge in the subject to do the job well?

You might want to omit some of the political activities unless you are sending the resume to a like-minded organisation.

Put an end to popups!

that's UR!

quote:

I basically did everything that's done with the food before it actually hits the stove (which the line chef did) I stopped doing that since its hard work and university summer jobs aren't

quote:

good idea.

quote:
What did you teach Prof Butler?

How to use e-mail, some basic stuff like navigating windows and internet use. Sounds easy but his only hand shakes constantly and he had a stroke last year making me have to set up and teach him routines for the simpliest things, took a lot of patience.

Filing mostly

quote:

Fairly, its a collection of scholarly and quasi-formal/autobiographical essays, as far as I know it doesn't appear to be published yet.

quote:

No.

quote:

Yup, either that or get really vague like Snapcase...

You can try tapping into your social networks. A couple of them springs to mind:

1. Alumni.
2. Any people in political/activist organisations you have met during the last four years.

I think you could look for jobs such as campaign organisers or fundraisers.
